I purchased this product for my office. As I am in a "high traffic" area and almost always leave my office unlocked, I wanted a dock for my iPod that wasn't overly expensive. Other factors when deciding to purchase the Satechi: I needed something that wouldn't take up a lot of space; I didn't need a lot of volume; I wanted to know there was good customer service behind the product; I wanted a dock that was sturdy and charged the iPod when in use.
I am VERY pleased with the Satachi Dock Station. It looks great, it's really easy to use, it has a modern look to it and it's exactly what I was picturing....however, if you want sound like a Bose or need control of things like bass & treble, this is not the dock for you. Like they say, you get what you pay for: think tinny, treble-filled sound that doesn't exactly blast away the walls!
I highly suggest this dock if your needs for sound are similar to mine.

For the price, this is wonderful. I use it with a 1G Nano and 1G Touch. I love that it has a remote. The sound quality is great, and the sound can fill a room nicely. The only issue is that I had to send it back twice due to charging issues. The device has a one-year warranty, and the bit on which you set the iPod to charge was not quite long enough on the first two. Customer service was really great; a quick phone call, and they sent me a box and a shipping label (both times), then sent a new one right away. Since I got this one, there have been no issues with anything; it works perfectly, and charges fine. It just took a couple of tries to get it right.

I got this docking station last week for my office, and have been listening to it pretty much nonstop. I have an ipod classic, but it works for any ipod. The sound is great, I have it turned down pretty low but I can still hear it well. Plus it doesn't take up much space on my desk and charges my ipod while it plays. And the remote control works very well. I would recommend this piece. I might want something a little more powerful for my apartment, but to be honest, I haven't really tested out how loud it can get.

I have owned two JBL round speakers for my IPods. Both units were used a lot but only lasted a year or so.I really liked the sound of the JBL but since they didn't last long I didn't want to spend the money on another unit. I saw the Satechi, read the reviews and figured for the price it was worth a shot. I don't know what the other reviewers are hearing, but I would not rate this good sound. I'll keep the speaker, but would not recommend it to others. FYI for someone looking for a small speaker unit, I had also ordered a smaller compact unit by Eforcity that is great.
