At first I was reluctant to purchase an extended warranty/product support product. I took a chance and will never regret it. APPLE's customer support is First Class. It's better than the "Gold Standard". It's The Platinum Standard for customer support. Every Company should be as good.....their customer support people are knowledgeable and friendly. No long waits on hold; no trying to navigate a phone cue to get to the correct department/person.



I was so impressed with APPLE that I bought two 16gb Nano's and upgraded my phone to an iPhone.

I have had five i pods to date, 3 of which died(hard drives) and another that was given away. So i procured an Apple Care Protection Plan for my latest investment. At any rate it wasn't until about a year ago that i received my new "Classic" which had functioned well until one day when the screen went half black(not dropped or cracked). I called into "Apple Care" and after roughly 10 minutes on hold I spoke to a rep. For the most part the claim notification went smoothly and after 2 days I received a package form FedEx for shipment. After a three day wait I found out that they had "DECLINED" my service/replacement under the pretense that it was "ABUSED OR ACCIDENTALLY DAMAGED" and the item was shipped back. Perhaps i misunderstood the value of the "plan" but after careful analyst i discovered that the plan does NOT cover; "extreme environment (temp. and humidity), physical/electrical stress,power surges, lightning, static electricity, fire, ACTS OF GOD(???), or other external causes. Because this is the case i now have a near-useless ipod with totally useless coverage. Its safe to say that i am justifiably aggravated and wish i could never purchase another product of apples' again, unfortunately this is not the case.

Wish I had gotten this for my iPod Classic, it messed up about 3 months after the warranty expired. Get it if you want protection...



Pros: Insures your iPod Classic or Touch in most cases



Cons: Won't cover all water damage

Kind of expensive



Overall: A good thing to have... Just in case...

I purchased the one year warranty for my iPod touch 1st generation, and after about 6 months it would no longer connect or charge unless held to the cable with rubber bands. So I send off my ipod to apple and they tell me that they won't repair it under warranty because of water damage, and they had the guts to tell me that they could repair it for $229! Now I travel around the Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, and Texas coast areas for work and I reach some humid areas but I've never had another electronic device utterly fail just from humidity. The ipod never touched water except what was in the air. DO NOT BUY!

The price was $10.00 cheaper than Apple store. Delivery was prompt. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 was because of the installation problem. I had to contact Apple tech support to fix the problem with registration. It was a problem with registering from North Carolina according to tech support.
