This handy little remote does work very well with my macbook (use it to play/pause videos), but since buying this I have learned there are other more expensive remotes that offer more features, like those that come with docking stations or those that are RF rather than IR...which I probably would have preferred but oh well I'm still gonna hold on to mine though because it is way cheaper than the other options.

It's cheap, it's not a $20 remote if you bought it at the store, and it works exactly how it's supposed to. Buy it, it's a no brainer.

This comes in handy for presentations with my Macbook. It makes it very easy to go through a slide show in PowerPoint or Impress. It's tiny, so I don't have to cart around some receiver and remote to get the same functionality. And I can use my own bright green laser pointer, instead of having to carry it in addition to the extra bulk from having a dim red one built into a remote.
It also works just fine for playing media. It even works with third-party players like VLC straight out of the box.
I wish it worked with Preview. Maybe that will come in an update. But, sometimes I give slide shows from a PDF. And it would be nice to be able to advance through those slides.
I also wish it came in black. The white plastic doesn't match my aluminum and black Macbook at all.
But, overall, it's a decent remote, and works as easily as any Apple product.

I use this remote for Front Row and iTunes, and it worked fine out of the box. I would buy again, but I'm probably just going to buy an Apple Universal Dock for iPods that comes with one.
