We shopped around for a modestly priced IPod dock with reasonably good sound and have been very satisfied with this Sony product. We use it mostly in our recently built garage and workshop and this Sony product sounds much better than expected for its size, more than fills the room with adequate bass and range, and can be enjoyed 30 feet away while washing our cars in the driveway. It has all the basic features we want, including charging the IPod, a nice remote and an attractive compact design.

Packed well(box within a box) and it came through UPS, signature required. The unit is solidly constructed and it has rich, full sound with the optional robust bass, unlike other brands. The remote (buy AAA batteries) comes in handy: shuffle, repeat, muting, volume, bass boost, and access to the iPhone/iPod menu. And priced at $89.99 with free shipping/no sales tax...a steal. Some non-online retailers can be as much as $70 more, including tax. I know, because I made that mistake, which I quickly rectified.

I got these speakers to replace a JBL set that had died. I'm pleased overall.
The full ipod function remote is a great feature. I hate having to get up to operate my ipod when I'm working and the ability to do it from across the room is a bonus. The sound quality is good. I use it in a room that's roughly 20x20. It's definitely loud enough for the room and can go louder. It doesn't have "perfect" balance. The treble could be a little better/cleaner, but its not something you notice unless you are listening at top volume.
The only other drawback for me is size. I have a relatively cramped space that this speaker set sits in and it's a little big for my taste, but that is compared to the small, low profile JBL speakers that I had before.
Overall a great choice for the money. It was significantly less than comprable docks and does a good job of charging and playing my ipod.

The docking station did not connect well with my Nano (4th Generation) and fails to work half the time. The remote is also faulty, with only four of the 15 buttons working.
As a former, long-time fan of Sony equipment, this product fails miserably.
I regret buying this through Amazon.
