"Owned for over a year and not working well" 2009-10-04
By R. Dougher (Vermont, USA)
I purchased this ipod transmitter over a year ago. At first it was pretty good. I had to cut the rubber stopper so that I could actually shove it in and out of my charger, but no big deal. But then the radio transmission started to get a little strange. I had to constantly scan to find a radio frequency that didn't get interference, and this was while driving around my own community. Forget long distance trips, I was scanning for new stations every 20 minutes. Now, I have to touch the transmitter so that my BODY improves the radio transmission, if I don't do this there is static ALL THE TIME! I am very disappointed with this device. The radio signal just seems to be very weak. I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

 "Loved this item until..." 2009-09-30

This item works great, except for the fact that the numbers on the front quit working. I can only see parts of the numbers and then have to guess which radio station it needs to be on.

"Poor Reception, Better Options for Less" 2009-09-24
By Kenneth W. Rohla (Daytona Beach, FL)
I've had the Belkin TuneBase FM for about a year now and absolutely hate it. Spent $70 on it based on a recommendation from a Best Buy employee, thought I was getting quality. The reception is consistently spotty in every area I've been in around the eastern US. Even in rural areas with lower radio station density, the transmitter will not keep clear audio for long even when the station signal is strong. Clear signal doesn't last even when staying in a local area with a strong FM station. It seems to be very easy for EM interference from other sources while driving. I've used it in several vehicles with the same result, none of them hybrids with their own EM fields. Both my 1998 Toyota T100 and 2005 Toyota Matrix have decent stereos and get poor reception. My wife's Monster wireless iPod transmitter works far better and is much less expensive.

"Too much static to used" 2009-09-22
By David
Love the idea for this, but the amount of static from the radio broadcast makes this unusable. Had to return it to Amazon. The product is very easy to use, the flexible stem is the right length and very flexible, but the sound quality is extremely poor broadcasting to my radio. Used on a iPhone 3GS with lots of different radio stations all over the Bay Area, even turned on "Airplane Mode" , but no good. Too bad..great idea; poor execution.

"I have yet to get a working unit from where I bought it." 2009-09-19
By Robbe B. Greene (Conway , SC USA)
As far as what I have read this item should work great, BUT I have tried 2 different units from Datavision wich sold through Amazon, and niether one works. The display is unreadable, and when I try to search for a radio signal I cannot find one from the unit, so I guess that it isn't working. Since I have already paid for shipping twice and about to pay a third time I will try to ask for a refund, but according to their return policy they charge a 15% restocking fee, so I will have paid WELL OVER retail for something that doesn't work!! I think next time I will just pick a company and mail them a check for $30.00 just to get the insanity overwith.
