It works, good value for the price.



Charges the my IPod Touch 2G, plays audio through the FM transmitter without using the headphone jack.



This device seems to be designed for the older Ipod Nano the Ipod touch covers the backlit display and the IR remote sensor. There is a clock that starts at 00:00 every time power is applied to the unit and seems to count how many minutes the device has been powered on. I haven't been able to figure out how to set the clock. It has memory for the radio transmission frequencies you use (requires use of the remote to program and use).



this is cheaply constructed, but you get what you pay for, and it works fairly well for what it cost.



The IPod connector built into the unit works perfectly for charging and playing audio.



Then there is an extra USB charging port and an audio input 3.5mm jack for other devices than the ipod. In order to charge the IPod Touch 2G through the USB port on the unit , I had to take the unit apart and solder the two data pins together. Otherwise the IPod thinks it is a computer USB and will not go into charge state because it is waiting for a data signal.



After soldering the USB data pins, I can use my iGPS360 GPS receiver, which uses a standard USB connector to charge itself and the IPod, and the 3.5mm audio connector to get voice driving directions through the FM transmitter (with the IPod upside down described below).



If I use the headphone jack on the IPod I have to turn the IPod upside down to get it to stay in the mount because there is a lip on the bottom of the unit, needed to hold the bottom of the IPod in the mount, and it blocks the headphone jack of the Ipod. The lip BTW is too narrow in my opinion and the IPod easily slips out of the mount unless the mount is tilted back.

I bought this adapter because my teenage son broke the last one (-- as our old one had to be removed every time the car got put into park... too big and bulky by the gear shift.)



So - this had decent reviews and the price was more than right. I figured if we were going to keep breaking them, that investing in a nice one was not a good plan.



Much to my delight - it sounds great (17 year old agrees!~) and it seems like it will be reasonably durable. Most important- it's compact enough that it doesn't need to be removed to park the car! It fits my nano 3rd gen - and also son's new itouch easily.



Glad I didn't buy an expensive one that I am guessing wouldn't be much nicer than this anyway!!!



So, we are definitely pleased with our purchase. I don't expect it to last forever, but it seems like it might have a few years in it? We have been using it for 2 months now and still are not disappointed.

Well this seems to have a strong signal and comes in very clear on every station i have tried it with. The remote needs a direct line of sight with the top of the device, which makes no sense and is very poorly designed. If it does have that line of sight it does work like it is supposed to though. The plug that goes into the cigarette lighter only grounds to one of the prongs instead of both which causes problems on some outlets that have open spots on them and it should be a little tighter so it doesnt lean over on bumpy roads. For the price and a little bit of time to fix the grounding problem and the tightening, i think it is worth it. For a little more i'm sure you can find one that wont have these simple problems though.

I found this FM transmitter to be a bit more fuzzy than the average car adapter. It isn't terribly noticable if you are playing music, especially music with distortion. However listening to spoken word such as audiobooks or stand up comedy can be a chore.



The charger works ok, but doesn't really provide much of an umphf. It seems to be best suited for keeping the Iphone at the charge it was at when you plugged it in more than actually recharging the battery. Ok product, but you can probably do better.

I bought this device to both charge the iPhone and play music through the radio. You MUST find a blank frequency or the background station will likely distort your music. Even on a clear frequency, the highs are slightly clipped. The cord is coiled but only reaches about 2 ft. This barely makes it to the front seat where I lay the device and wants to pull it off the seat. Make sure your lighter socket is fairly close to where you want to locate the device. Selecting a frequency is straight forward as well as the on/off button. The connector locks into the device and you must squeeze the tabs on the side of the connector to release it. Overall, not bad - gets the job done.

I'm pretty new to the Ipod world, so I don't have much of a basis for comparison. However, this product has met my needs for a device that would play my Ipod through the car's stereo system while recharging the battery.



In researching for a car adapter, I saw that many people said that you should avoid an FM transmitter and go with a device that uses the AUX outlet (if you have one). Of course an AUX outlet doesn't recharge the Ipod battery so you'd have to go with a separate battery charger and adapter combo. Another advantage of an FM transmitter is that you can use it in a more basic car without an AUX outlet.



At first the transmitter picked up a lot of static from the recommended frequency. I could see how someone living in a metro area (and I live in the suburbs of the NY tristate area) could have trouble finding a static free frequency. Luckily I was able to find a better frequency and the sound for the most part has been quite good. However, I still occasionally have to reset the frequency when traveling a distance and there are some (thankfully small) zones where there's always a bit of static.



Otherwise, I'm very happy with this product.

OK, so the quality and craftsmanship is not the best you've ever seen and no, it's not exactly a Sony - but so what? For the cost of a fast food meal this gives you some outstanding flexibility in Car Audio. The very idea of being able to play MP3 files from an SD card (plugged into your cig lighter) is outrageously clever and it works.



I've used this with a few MP3 players and as an SD Card standalone player. The sound quality is limited mostly by your own pre-installed equipment, and in finding the best possible frequency to sync up on. I covered the cost on this by sacrificing a few visits to Starbucks during my first week of ownership.



This is not for people with a critical ear, and yes it is something of a novelty, as others have said; but it works as advertised and is indeed a very fun "toy". Though I'd love to see a reputable electronics giant's version of this, I'll tip my hat to whoever came up with the idea itself.

I bought this mp3-fm transmitter to use it in my old truck from 2004 that could play only CDs. I read some bad reviews about it, but I wanted to give it a try. I was so pleased with it! It's been more than 6 months since I've had it, using it daily at least 30 min while driving. I was not disappointed at all.

Its difficult to recommend this product since it quit working only about a month after I got it. I was also never able to get it to play music off of the SD card. I could only get the player off the internal memory. The Remote control worked without any problems. Please also be aware that this device transmits audio with an low power FM transmitter. This is great for convenience but not good for audio quality. No FM transmitters that I have used have been very good at delivering good audio quality. If your thinking of buying a device with these features I would suggest buying something more expensive that has better build quality.

Wow! I'm impressed. This little gadget is economical, not cheap. A friend bought one on my recommendation and says the performance using the analog audio input jack is marginal. He and I agree, however, that the performance using a thumb drive or an SD card is terrific!



I've just ordered six more, some for gift giving and a couple that I will use inside my house - after I buy the parts and build the 12 Volt adapters (later today).



Note that I strongly prefer the SD card for media. The card fits within the physical profile of the device whereas a thumb drive protrudes and might get bumped, resulting in damage to the drive and/or the player.

After much research on the web, this unit got the best reviews. I can say from personal experience that it's performance is worthy of those praises. I replaced a $100 Monster FM transmitter that was horrible. This unit was 1/3 the price and outperforms my previous unit 10 times over. Can't go wrong with this one!

No ... I tried the Belkin from Apple and it has less static, and you have more control over frequencies, PRO settings for audio quality, and the use of MONO which really improves quality with the Belkin version. Also, this product is bulky and you cant see the screen while driving, and the dock is not made for the iphone although you can force it ... but not a good idea
