 "Great clock radio!" 2009-10-06
By Jackie (Los Angeles)
Very happy, great price and features. Sound quality ok, good for a small room, fits perfectly on bedside table. Like the time/date display. Very bright, but can be adjusted. Remote is nice addition to have. Easy to setup and use.

"Only Worked for Three Month!" 2009-09-27
By J. Milligan (Sparks, NV USA)
It worked great, even with the big software upgrade that apple rolled out with the introduction of the 3GS. Just last week I did a routine update on my iPhone and now it no longer works with this unit. I plug it into the cradle and it gives me a compatibility error message then freezes up the clock radio. Since it's past the 2 month return window with Amazon I'm out of luck as they will not stand by this vendor and take the return.

I would not buy this product. Way too unstable!

 "Great Speaker Dock" 2009-09-25
By Amazon Reviewer29
This was my first iHome purchase. I had previously used the altec lansing im600, which I really liked. But, since I upgraded to the 3rd gen ipod touch 32gb the altec lansing no longer charged it. After reading all the reviews from websites and users of the iHome ip9 I decided to give it a try. I also needed a good alarm clock. I must say the iHome iP9 has replaced many devices. I dont need an alarm clock, I dont need a charger for my iPod (Altough I do have one), I dont need seperate fm/am radio or a speakers for my ipod. The sound on the ihome is very good. I do wish it had a little bit more bass. The fm radio reception is pretty good especially with the supplied wired antenna. I do wish it came with a telescopic antenna instead like my previous altec lansing im600. Also comes with a am radio antenna which I havent even used yet. I really like the interface and the way the whole system is designed. You get 6 fm radio presets which is prefect for me. 2 Alarms and the alarms are completely customizable. You can set how long the snooze is, you can set how you are woken up whether its the alarm buzzer, radio, ipod playlists, etc. I also like the fact that you can change the dimmer for the clock display. It has 8 different settings. There is also an auxiliary jack for connecting to your pc or cd player or other devices. There is back up battery for the clock so in case the power goes out and the time is reset your alarm will still ring on time and it still keeps the time correctly. I really like the supplied remote very easy to use. Buttons are positioned nicely. The speaker dock also has customizable setting for the equalizer for bass, treble, balance, 3d eq. Also when the ipod is docked and your in the music menu you are able to conrol the menus within the music with the remote to choose which playlist you want to play. Overall great product. It would be nice if it had a built in lithium battery or that you could put your own batteries in it to make it slightly portable. And also like I said earlier I wish it had the telesopic antenna for fm radio reception. I do also wish I got it for a little cheaper around $80. I paid $100 for it when it was on sale.

"Good sound, but won't wake w/ipod if music has periods of silence" 2009-09-20
By C. van Dijk (Arlington, MA)
I bought this because the 3D sound is pretty good. Battery backup is great, and I loved how you could set each of the two alarms, specifying whether the alarm time is for weekdays, weekends, or all week long. I really wanted to be able to wake gently with music that has periods of silence, like gentle bells that ring, resonate, followed by a bit of silence before the next bell. However this machine will switch to its own beeping alarm if it doesn't "hear" any music, so I get one bell and then beeping. If you want to wake to music or sound that has no pauses, then it could be a nice alarm for you. But for those looking for a gentler waking, it may not be the right dock-clock.
