With a hybrid map and satellite view, you can see major street names on top of satellite images.

Widgets
Widgets are small, incredibly handy applications you can use every day. Three of the most useful widgets now live front and center on your Home screen:

Weather
Get a five-day weather forecast, including highs and lows, for cities around the world. Save your favorite locations so you can check the weather anytime.

Notes
Take notes, make a to-do list, or jot down a reminder using the easy-to-use touch keypad. Then save or email them.

Stocks
Check your stocks and track the market over one day, one week, one month, three months, six months, one year, or two years.

High Technology
iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone, the most advanced software ever engineered, and state-of-the-art technology. With the multi-touch display, you can control everything using only your fingers. If you rotate your iPod touch from portrait to landscape, the accelerometer automatically changes the way the content is displayed. And with wireless technology, you can connect to the Internet from any Wi-Fi network, anywhere you are.

Multi-touch
iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone. Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the multi-touch interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page. And iPod touch features a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, getting directions on a map, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, or adding new contacts.

Ambient Light Sensor
The iPod touch display has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness to suit the ambient light in your surroundings. The result? A better experience for you and battery-saving efficiency for iPod touch.

Wireless
Connect to the Internet anywhere there's a Wi-Fi network. Send email from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hot spots in your area. iPod touch finds wireless networks and connects you to the Internet.

Accelerometer
An accelerometer detects when you rotate iPod touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page, your music in Cover Flow, or a photo in its proper aspect ratio.

 "Best purchase ever. Period." 2009-09-23
By Kevin McElroy (Virginia, USA)
I am in unhealthily love with this thing. I bought it to replace my old iPod Touch that was stolen which I received used. Unlike many other products, the difference between a used and new iPod Touch is incredible. I'm a huge fan of Apple products and I definitely recommend the iPod Touch to anyone who doesn't already have one. The only thing I remotely dislike is that the battery life could be slightly better. Apple should make options when you purchase for extra length batteries for people who use their iPod a little heavier than most (or maybe they do and I am just unaware of such an offer). Overall a great buy though. Get it. And enjoy it. =)

"Must have IF you can put up with AT&T" 2009-09-21
By M RMZ (California)
I absolutely love this phone. I've had an iPod for a while now, and had to get the iPhone as soon as I could. I wish I could actually upgrade this phone to a newer model but it is so expensive with AT&T. The countless number of apps is mind boggling. My only beef with the iPhone is the lousy battery life. However, I do have a complaint with Apple's exclusive contract with AT&T. AT&T is terrible, and I can't wait until their exclusivity contract is done so I can get an iPhone without being prisoner of AT&T's crappy service and expensive rates.

 "Apple iPod touch 8GB" 2009-09-02
By Christopher W. Gufler (Coventry, RI)
Ordered the Apple iPod touch 8GB (1st Generation)"NEW" from Amazon. As a first time buyer with Amazon I was extremly dissatisfied! The item came in as Referbished. I order the condition of the iPod as "NEW". Spoke to customer service sent me a shipping label and returned the first iPod. Another iPod was sent again "NEW" and received it as Referbished, go figure. I have been back and forth on the phone with Amazon since the end of July of 2009. Today I hung up with yet another customer service representative offering me free shippping if I chose to order another product. All I wanted answered is if a consumer orders a product from Amazon as "NEW" should'nt that product be received as "NEW"? That is what I requested and wanted to pay for. This has been a nightmare and yet as of today my question is still not answered and I am still without an iPod. I am unsure of whether I will do business with this organization or not.

"The best multimedia player I've owned." 2009-07-10
By Edwina A. G. Duenas (San Bruno, CA USA)
I've had my iPod Touch for over a year now and have enjoyed every minute of it. Music is easy to sync and iTunes easy to use. Coverflow is beautiful on the iPod Touch. Videos are crisp and there is tons of content to choose from in the iTunes store. Photos look great as well.

I also enjoy the internet capabilities through Safari. It's an excellent browsing experience that's truly unparalleled. There are a few other widgets too, like notes, calendar, and weather, that I find handy.

The App Store great as well (of course). There are thousands of apps available are available in free and paid version. Some of my favorites: Doodle Jump, Tap Tap Revenge, Tweetie, iCanSketchit, and more. The App Store adds a lot of value to the iPod Touch.

Jailbreaking your iPod will be nice too. Lots of great themes and customization options. Also, you can "hide" icons with Boss Prefs or Poof! to clear up your screens.

I received this as a gift, but I would have felt definite sticker shot if I bought it at its original price of $299.99. The iPod Touch is a great device, but the upfront price should probably be lowered nowadays, considering the iPhone 3G handset is now just $99.99.

If you do buy an iPod Touch, you will have tons of fun with it.

Enjoy
