Remarkable that this works so well and sounds so good compared to the low price. I have this plugged into a 2008 Porsche (that's right, Porsche did not deem to make MP3 connections standard until this year), and passengers have commented that they thought the Soundfly was original equipment both it terms of looks and sound. That is, the passengers couldn't tell that it was an FM transmitter and just thought it was built into the car's stereo since the artist and name of the song appear via RDS on the car's stereo, and the thing is so small and black that it just looks like it belongs to the car.
I was leery about even buying it because I live in L.A. and there are virtually no empty frequencies in this marketplace. But the Soundfly's transmitter is shockingly powerful and works without almost any static (i have it on 83.5). There is just one block of my 12 mile commute where i get just a whiff of static for maybe a third of a second, but really, nothing at all to complain about. On a recent 300 mile trip, i heard heavy static only once while driving in Santa Barbara...promptly cured by changing frequencies.
And, at least to my ears, this thing sounds better than the OEM CD player built into the Porsche! I couldn't believe it at first, but i have played the same music on CD and then on the SD back to back in the Soundfly, and the Soundfly is shockingly better! Admittedly, I have never played much with the sound controls on the car stereo, but whatever Soundfly is doing to process the sound, it sure improved what the speakers could do (I left the Soundfly's equalizer at factory settings) and it boosted the bass quite well without distortion.
Contrary to other opinions here, I didn't think either of my MP3 players plugged directly into the Soundfly sounded nearly as good as the SD (I havent tried the USB connection, so can't comment on that one), but i like having that option. And having the plugged-in Soundfly running an SD is fantastic as you don't have to worry about using up an external MP3 player's batteries.
While others have commented that they didn't like the controls or the lack of readouts on the Soundfly, for me they are pretty perfect precisely because of their simplicity (not to mention the discreet tiny size). Tap the right button and you move on to the next song; hold the same right button for 2 secs to skip to the next album. I mean, this is so easy that i dont even take my eyes from the road, which is very important to me. Again, the song's name and artist come out in big letters on my car stereo's screen, so i don't have any need to see it on the Soundfly's tiny screen (note: your car's stereo needs to have RDS to do this). In my car, i would have to be a contortionist to aim the remote precisely at the Soundfly, so, needless to say, i don't use it, and rely solely on the basic controls on the actual device, which, again, i love.
And while at first I thought it would be annoying to unplug the Soundfly every time i parked the car (according to instructions, you should not leave it plugged in as it could blow its fuse when starting the car...and they do include a spare fuse), you dont have to remove it entirely out of the lighter socket, you just barely push up on it and it turns off.
I had considered putting in a $1700 sound system just to get an MP3 connection, and before i plunked down that money, i thought i would try this out and see how much i would actually use an MP3 player. Boy, what a great decision that was. The incredibly pleasant surprise is Soundfly saved me more than $1650. Thanks Soundfly!

Does everything it says it will. Simple to load a SD card with music, easy to tune fm radio and good sound. An excellent value. Quick shipping.
There are minor flaws in my car where the cigarette plug is always powered:
1. Remains warm when powered off. I would not leave it plugged in overnight for safety and battery drain issues.
2. If not turned off (or unplugged) when radio is turned off, it will continue to play. You lose your place when the radio is turned on again.
3. Very little information on the display. Probably a good thing so not to be a distraction while driving.

This product is everything it is advertised to be. I am using a SanDisk card and it works well with multiple folders. You can select shuffle option for all songs within a folder. It handles up to 20 folders. Frequency is easy to set and the unit will store up to 7, identified by number. I just use the same number on my car stereo station presets. The instructions were obviously not written by a native English speaker, but I had no trouble understanding them. The controls on the unit perform all operations that the ones on the remote do. I've found that I haven't really needed the remote, although it does seem to work fine. The unit remembers the current song when you switch it off (typically by turning off the car) but starts back at the beginning of that song when you turn it back on. Shuffle mode is not remembered unfortunately and you have to re-select it each time or the unit will go back to playing all songs in order again.
The sound quality is exactly what you would expect from an FM transmission - not so great. Highs and lows are mostly missing and you get mostly mid-range. I have occasional interference from outside sources and a soft, high pitched whine that fluctuates with my engine speed is audible when the music playing is quiet. If you are used to CD or iPod quality sound and this matters to you, you should avoid this product. If you are not as picky about sound quality and just want to hear your tunes this is a good, inexpensive way to replace an aging or broken CD player in your car.

Excellent device, outstanding product!
Arrived before the scheduled delivery date. Easy to use out-of-the-box, but you should read the directions to get all the benefits. Controls are well designed and easy to use.
The transmitter is sufficiently powered; we rarely get interference but when we do its easy to find an unused frequency. No need to worry about low batteries since the main unit runs off the car battery (only the remote uses a separate battery).
I particularly like the flexibility of the music source: you don't need a mp3 player. Use an SD card and/or a USB drive (you can use both at the same time). No need to leave your mp3 player in the car.
Another excellent feature is the skip function: you can skip to the next song, or to the next folder. Not in the mood for the Beatles? Hold the fast-forward button for a few seconds and skip ahead to Waylon. (The reverse/rewind button works the same way.)
One minor drawback: the device stays powered when the car is off, so you need to disconnect it from the plug when not in use. However, the unit remembers the song its playing, so when it reconnects it resumes play where it stopped. In addition, there is on OFF button on the remote, but I'd like an OFF button on the main unit (since the remote is easily misplaced).
A really nice extra: the device also transmits the song title and artist information (from the mp3 tags, I think). If your radio supports it, it will display this info. Very cool.
Overall great product, good price point. I'll buy another soon.

I like the product because the sound is quite good, much better than a transmitter I bought in Target a couple years ago. Also, you can flip folders, an action that my MP3 can't do. It's compact, thoughtful, and great for anyone who wants MP3 but don't want to spend hundreds on a car MP3 system.
