This car charger works just fine with the iPhone 3GS. Having two USB ports is also nice since both my wife and I are able to charge phones while on long car rides.

This charger charges my iPhone 3GS without a problem. It is also compact and aesthetically appealing. I bought it so I could charge a multitude of USB-powered devices and it works for everything I've tried with the one exception:
A Garmin Nuvi cannot be charged from this device. The Garmin Nuvi thinks it's connected to the USB port of a computer and goes into a computer mode when plugged into this device. Technically, the Nuvi is charging but it can't be used in the meantime. This is most likely a shortcoming of the Garmin Nuvi than of this particular charger.

This product works great. However there are some devices that are a bit picky about where their power comes from (i.e. LG Envy-3).
