I bought this because the 3D sound is pretty good. Battery backup is great, and I loved how you could set each of the two alarms, specifying whether the alarm time is for weekdays, weekends, or all week long. I really wanted to be able to wake gently with music that has periods of silence, like gentle bells that ring, resonate, followed by a bit of silence before the next bell. However this machine will switch to its own beeping alarm if it doesn't "hear" any music, so I get one bell and then beeping. If you want to wake to music or sound that has no pauses, then it could be a nice alarm for you. But for those looking for a gentler waking, it may not be the right dock-clock.

This is the second iHome radio/ipod docking system I have purchased. The sound from the little unit is very good. It is easy to use and charges the ipod while it plays. I am using it on a large boat in the master stateroom and the first one quit working because of salt water.

I purchased the iHome iP9BR clock radio for ipod after i purchased another clock radio that i just did not like at all. The iHome has all the features i wanted, a dock for the ipod, dual alarm that has full functions for both alarms, you can set both alarms to wake to the radio,ipod or buzzer. The size of the radio is not to big it will fit nicely on a night stand. it is very stylish and the controls are easy to use. The sound quality is very good at low volume and good at higher volumes.The light is adjustable the remote is great to use to set the snooze feature.
If you are looking for a good sounding dual alarm clock radio to dock your ipod for under a hundred dollars, this is the radio you want.

What I Like: Excellent, full sound, better than I expected from such a small unit. Numerals are easy to read and being able to dim them is a plus. I also like the feature that starts the alarm (I have it set to radio)at low volume and gradually increases. I dock my iPhone at night so it's always charged.
What I Don't Like: This is really picky, but I don't like the little rotating disks for volume/station control. I'm always turning the volume control the wrong way! The little tiny remote control is, well, little tiny. Although I have to say it works fine.
All in all, I'm very happy with my iP9BR and I'm glad I got it.
