I love it. It holds between 150 and 200 songs, which is all I need for running. The newer version has the controls on the earphones, which is bad if you hate earbuds like I do, so I'd recommend this version unless you're okay with using the earphones that come with it. I definitely recommend this for all the other runners out there. I also love that even in shuffle mode, you can go back and replay a song (or even the song before that one), which most mp3 players with a shuffle function can't do.

Does what it does. Love being able to go to the gym with this tiny thing on my sleeve....and then noticing other people walking around with their big bulky nano's and other MP3's strapped onto their arm like it was a grenade or something.Can you say TACKY ? This thing is small, has good battery life and easy to use. Perfect for working out !

I love this - am listening to it now. Rarely take it off. GReat for apartments where you can't play music too loud, but want to Rock-Out.
I like the colour to match my clothes. I alternate with a
gold 1 GB. It has changed my life in that I will be singing or
dancing at times I would not ordinarily have done so. Turns chores, i.e., shopping, running errands, into fun. And when you get out of the car, you don't have to miss a good song that invariably comes on when you are getting out of the car.
Great gift for someone on chemo or other bed-bound illness. Wish I had this years ago and when I was on chemotherapy or for the breakroom at work before that.

The size and weight are its biggest assets. Sound quality is excellent. The earphones don't fit too well though. The iTunes interface is quite limiting, though that may have improved in later versions.
The lack of a screen does not make much of a difference if you are only going to be listening to songs on this iPod. Given that it is 1GB, you anyway won't have more than a couple of hundred songs.
The switch to switch it on, or to toggle between sequential and shuffle play are a little awkward to use.
The iTunes software that comes with it is not very intuitive or useful.
Excellent value for money.
