Works perfectly. Only problem is the bright blue light. It is difficult to sleep with it charging.

I haven't used this charger in the dark so I can't comment whether the blue light is annoying or not. I am using this charger at work so it's been plugged in under my desk. The fact that you can only use the cable included to sync or transfer data is actually a plus for me since we're not allowed to connected personal devices to our work computers. It's much easier to plug it into my keyboard than to constantly unplug it from the strip on the floor. If someone asks me why I have my iPhone (3GS) connected to my computer I can honestly tell them it's just charging and no data can be transferred. It hasn't come apart and continues to work just fine after a few months of occasional use.

Charger works, USB cable doesn't. So I use my own cable.
I read the reviews and it seems this Belkin unit works "great" if it works at all. And if it doesn't work people are understandably unhappy. I didn't return mine, I just threw out the cable and used the one I got with my iPod. Works fine that way. I figure I lucked out in that it was just the cable that was bad. If the whole thing was bad I'd have to return it for a refund. Too bad they don't just sell the wall wart without the cable. We wasted a bit of time trying to figure out what was wrong.
Probably wouldn't wanna buy Belkin products again. I can't see why poor quality control wouldn't be the norm in all their other products.

The charger works well, but I downgraded it because
1) when I plug it in it emits a bright blue light that is way too bright in a hotel room. I wasn't looking for a night light!
2) the charger came with a detachable USB to iPOD cable. I didn't need another of those!

It works fine for any other ipods but I bought this looking for something to work with a 3G iPod classic and it doesn't work for that. I think 3G iPod classics only charge via firewire.
