I looked for months for an iPod docking system that I could use at home and that I could take to the beach. This is perfect. It is compact so it fits into my beach bags with ease. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot on a docking sysytem or already has one and would like to have a second that is handy to take with you.

I love this player/speaker system for my ipod! I got a few on a lark at Christmas last year for the kids as stocking stuffers. Well they turned out to be one of the best finds of all time. My kids (ages 15, 23 & 27) and I get asked all the time about where we got these. The player was great having on the beach this summer, the sound is remarkably good for such a small player and such a low price and it lasts a long time on two double AA batteries. I just put it in a plastic baggie so sand couldn't ruin it. I use it all the time while clean the upstairs in my house where I don't have a docking station as well as outside by the pool. I just bought 4 more to give as gifts this Christmas. You won't be sorry you purchased this item.

I have this speaker and it works great with my iPod shuffle. I clip the speakers to my bike and it works well for the 2 hour bike ride without having to change the batteries. It allows me to listen to music as well as listen for traffic and people around me. The volume is great for a bike ride around the city and beach. The sound quality is impressive.
The 3.5mm jack is standard and works with my Philips MP3 player as well as all iPods. This works best with iPods because the storage inside is flat. My Philips MP3 player doesn't fit inside because it's not flat. When you unzip the pouch, the ON/OFF switch is on one side and the mesh screen is on the other side. Your MP3 player fits into this slot for added protection.
The shell of the speakers is made of hard material. You can shove it in the bottom of your backpack and it won't get crushed. It's durable and extremely convenient when you don't want to use headphones. Great for camping, hiking, bonfires, etc.
The reason for the 4-star rating is the lack of storage space for non-iPod products.

i bought these to use on my boat and they work great. we have one of the small tabletop speaker sets for the house and these sound alot better. i'm sure there are better speakers out there but these would be hard to beat for the money.
