 "Good show" 2010-04-02

By D. Springer

THe headphones were shipped promptly to my address, as well as being conveniently and efficiently packaged. They were exactly what I was expecting, although I had actually thought that, for such a low price, the quality would be low. I was pleased to find that I was wrong on that count. I use them nearly every day and have not had any problems yet. If you are looking for some quality earbuds that don't put much of a dent in your wallet, I would say that you have found them with this product.

 "In-Ear iPod Headphones" 2010-03-29

By VINCENT AUSTIN-COLE (BLACKWOOD, NJ, US)

These in-ear headphones arrived in only 2 days, and I was quite pleased that they contained foam ear bud covers, which help these classic headphones stay in my ear, no matter what I'm doing. I'm very glad I ordered 2 sets of these, cause I can now have one set at work and one set at home.

I never thought I'd appreciate having my puppy chew up one of my electronic accessories, but this time - a big THUMBS UP!! I would recommend replacing these headphones at least once a year for 2 reasons. 1) you never know when you may loose your original set, and 2) they are priced to afford replacing them more than once a year (if you have an adventurous pet who loves chewing on electronic accessories).

"Great sound and perfect fit" 2010-03-29

By Debbie Adkins

I had purchased some other earphones after loosing the original ones that came with my Ipod and they weren't comfortable and I had forgotten how good the Apple Ipod ear phones had sounded until I received my new ones. I love them. They are light weight and the sound is incredible. Very speedy delivery and just as advertised.

Although the price range was good enough, I was disappointed when I received the ear phones because it was not like the ones shown on the picture...the sound quality is NOT so good, everytime I move my head a certain direction i hear sumthing as if there is sumthing stuck within the earphone. Overal i was disappointed with the product due to false advertisement.

Bose® In-Ear Headphones

Buy Cheap Bose® In-Ear Headphones

Buy Low Price From Here Now

Presenting high quality in-ear headphones engineered and developed by Bose, the most respected name in sound. Enjoy rich audio and a comfortable fit not available from conventional in-ear designs.

You'll hear your music with more range, realism and clarity than with most earbuds. Bose research and engineering are at the core of the remarkable performance of these in-ear headphones. That includes the proprietary TriPort acoustic headphone structure for greater output of low notes from small headphones.

Bose in-ear headphones are designed to be worn comfortably for extended periods of time. Many people experience discomfort from traditional earbuds. But Bose engineers have developed innovative, soft silicone tips shaped to rest easily in the outer bowls of your ears, not the pressure-sensitive ear canals. Tips come in three sizes for a more personal fit. You may find using a different size tip for each ear the most comfortable option. These headphones also come with a lanyard and clothing clip for enhanced stability when you're on the move.

Bose in-ear headphones are engineered specifically for use with laptops, MP3 players and CD players. The audio cable's 3.5 mm angled plug also fits directly into iPod, iPhone and other sources with recessed headphone jacks. Included with purchase is a sleek, protective carrying case with enough extra room for a portable MP3 player.

Try Bose in-ear headphones for quality sound, comfortable design and personal fit. You may appreciate their unique benefits from the first notes of your favorite song.

 "Not what I expected..." 2009-10-21
By D. P. Jividen (Abilene, TX USA)
So I bought these to use at my last job because I had music on for at least 6 hours a day normally. My experience with other Bose products, not headphones, was very positive so I got these fancy little earbuds.

Pros:

Very comfortable, I can wear them all day and the stay put and don't make your ears sore.

Crystal clear sound across the whole sound spectrum at low to mid volume.

Ear pieces are easy to switch out and come in multiple sizes.

Cons:

Ear pieces come off way to easy and I've nearly lost them a few times.

Bass gets terribly distorted if you crank these up beyond the mid volume.

They are not durable at all. The wire covering cracks quickly exposing wire, especially at the base of the earbuds and at the input jack.

Overall, I can't say these are worth the money. I can get past the bass distortion, I can handle the ear pieces coming off every so often, but the wiring falling apart? Seriously Bose... how the hell can you put your name on a product that falls apart so easily?

"Insecure, Loose & Purchase Spare" 2009-10-12
By Max Torque (Morriston, NJ USA)
Bad points:

a) silicon tips do not seal tightly regardless of which size (small, med, large included). This means you can hear external sounds which can be good and bad. This also means they can fall off/out of the ear canal requiring adjustment. Lastly, this means that you must turn the volume up approx. 30% or more to achieve listenable volumes.

b) The tips easily fall off the earbud and, in my case, get lost easily. I have used all the provided pairs of replacement tips and am now purchasing replacement sets so I can continue to use the earbuds.

c) wire is heavy gauge, and a good length for most uses.

d) Plug-in connector is perfect size to fit through silicon skins (many are too large and are pushed out).

e) comes with lapel clip that works acceptably

 "Not well constructed" 2009-09-10
By Dennis Cullen (midwest)
Used for last 7 months. Silicone buds fall off constantly and hard to find due to color. Had to buy extras online. Bad enuf, but then the right earpiece fall apart. Had to glue that together. I don't use them for exercise or running. That's the reason for the low rating. Still, no real bass but decent mid and upper range. Not really what I expected from Bose. These were rated higher at one time but I recommend going to a shop and trying a few competitors out before you buy.

Don't let upper end price fool you either as I had another higher priced set that failed after 1 yr and they couldn't be fixed.

I have used ear buds a long time and over the ears for 25 yrs so I think that qualifies as an experience amateur. Didn't know I would have to be a repairman as well.

 "Common problem with durability" 2009-09-07
By Louise Miller
As noted in many reviews already posted, there is a quality problem with these earphones. After less than 18 months of gentle use (but over the 12-mo warranty) the wires and their protective covering frayed and separated where they enter the jack. Bose service rep says this is not repairable (I can't imagine why not, except they'd rather not). He offered me the 'opportunity' to replace the earphones for $50. Say what? Why would I want to pay that for the same product after it fell apart? As usual, Bose's promotion and advertising far exceeds product performance.

 "best earbuds I've tried" 2009-08-30
By J. Ard
I'm not a Bose fan but after trying innumerable earbuds I'm thrilled to have found these. I was about to buy a set of shures (can't remember the model) but after sampling these it was a no brainer for me. Bass is surprising - I wasn't aware earbuds could put that much out. I find the highs and mids just right for me.

When I originally bought these they came with three silicone earbud tips (SM, MED and LG), the headphones and a leatherette case. It took several days of playing and getting used to the feel as they simply "sit" in your ear - no pushing or twisting involved. Originally I felt they were insecure and was thinking of returning them, but after trying them steady for about a week I got used to them and now LOVE the fit. I also use them to work out and was dissatisfied that the tips would fall off too easily (while running sometimes my hand would catch the cord resulting in my ripping the bud out of my ear and resulting in the silicone tip flying away). Also when I began sweating the buds would slip out of my ear too easily. Consumers complained about this and Bose responded: BRAVO! Bose now supplies an updated version that has a redesigned silicone tip that snaps in place - no more eartip flying away! Also there is lanyard which when attached sits behind your neck and effectively takes the weight off the cord - when properly adjusted the headphones don't fall out of my ears when running. Of course, I purchased the non-updated set; however by logging onto the Bose website you can request the updated features for your headphones free of charge. I completed the request and a week later and the three sets of updated eartips and the lanyard. Was very impressed! I highly recommend these earbuds but suggest you give them several days to get used to them as the design is fit is so different from the norm.

Four stars b/c during intense summer workouts and I sweat profusely, the earbuds will still slip out at times. This is easily solved by wiping the buds dry on your shirt (if you can find a dry spot) but it is a bit of a pain when running for time.

One other note: I've never had them fall out when on the elliptical or treadmill. When lifting weights or doing situps: they suck. b/c of the way they sit in your ear when you lie on your back they slip right out. I might consider another set for working out that wraps around the ear (but have been using these for over a year and only occasionally have to fight to keep them in my ear), but for the sound - I'll never go back to another earbud.

 "Amazing Comfort & Sound" 2009-10-18
By Jonathan Heywood
These are by far the most comfortable headphones I have every owned. They fit my head perfectly, and even fit snugly over my large ears. It's so easy to forget I'm wearing them. I can (and have) worn them for hours on end, 8 hours strait being the longest, without ever having to take a break. I cannot imagine every having a pair of cans surpass the comfort of these.

The sound quality was certainly a step up from my previous pair, and I have no complaints. It doesn't exactly blow me away like some higher-cost pairs will, but it meets all my needs for audio performance. For a pair of headphones in this price range, I can't imagine any better.

I have had no problems with the durability of my headphones, but I do baby them. They remain in such good shape because they never undergo any sort of stress. Assuming you don't try to juggle them, they should remain sturdy enough.

"Built poorly, way over-priced for what it is." 2009-10-13
By Captain Mitch
Only Bose can fool you with its name and be able to sell crap headphones for over $100. The sound quality is better than that of a cheap radio shack or walmart pair, but nowhere near of what it SHOULD be for the price range that it's in. My Bose headphones broke after not even a year of having them. The 3 tiny screws holding the speaker cup onto the bracket finally let loose once the cheapo plastic piece that they actually screw into cracked. Bose will not fix it. Almost every audiophile nowadays will tell you that Bose is overprice junk.

If you want some advice on what to actually buy, I suggest looking at what Grado Labs, Inc. makes. For $99 you can get some headphones that will blow these Bose set's audio quality right out of the water. Every audiophile swears by Grado Labs, so I bought their SR80i and it makes me not want to touch any other brand ever again.

"Expensive, low quality and unreliable components" 2009-10-13
By N. Clement (Madrid, Espagne)
I bought these headphones looking for a high quality set. I have been greatly disapointed by the now 5th break of the too long cord which I had to superglue on the base of each ear and on the jack angle... The leather is just average and the component inside is not exactly top of the range which I find very disapointed at 150$ a piece. I should have bought 3 at 50$ each. I would have received the same sound quality and not wasted my time fixing and looking on how to fix them...

 "Not competitive" 2009-09-26
By David Keppel (Bloomington, IN United States)
If someone gave you these, thank your friend or relative warmly and enjoy the headphones carefully. They sound nice but are fragile. If, on the other hand, you are considering buying them, you can get better sound and build quality from the Sennheiser HD 448 Sennheiser HD448 Around the Ear Headphones. (There are both cheaper and much more expensive Sennheisers. The HD 448 is an excellent closed (noise isolating) headphone -- the same basic design and price as this Bose, just sturdier and better. And open headphone at the same price is the Sennheiser HD 238, if you are listening at home and are not worried about others hearing your music and your hearing their noise.)

 "AWESOME headphones" 2009-09-18
By Skeeter McTeeks (Miami)
First off, I did tons of research before buying these headphones. I read reviews one countless websites to be sure these were the headphones for me. Conclusively, I found that most people complained about: lack of bass, cheap design, and price. I found these for around 100 on eBay, brand new, so I decided, "why not?" I got these about a month ago and have fallen in love with them. I agree, the bass won't blow you away. There are times when you wish it would just hit harder, but I guess I've gotten used to my $40 Sony In-Ear Headphones that deliver more pounding bass than these BOSE headphones. BUT, the clarity in these headphones is amazing! I found myself not recognizing certain songs as they began playing because I was hearing subtle sounds, noises, instruments, etc. that my other headphones just weren't able to produce. To test it out I turned the music up to roughly 75 to 80% and played various genres of music. I started with 3OH!3 which sounded great. All the electronic sounds, strong bass, and loud vocals sounded great. Very clear and it left me satisfied. So I switched it to some Kanye West (808's and Hearbreak album) playing the second song "Welcome to Heartbreak". This song has pretty strong, deep bass, and I wanted to see how well these headphones performed. Well, to be honest, it left me a little disappointed. Everything else sounded great, but those really low bass notes just weren't as strong as I had hoped. I then listened to various other styles of music for an hour and really felt satisfied with my purchase. Of course there are headphones out there for less that may have better bass, but I think that the portability of the headphones and the clarity of the music make up for it. I highly recommend these headphones, although I'm not sure I'd pay 130-140 for them. I got these for around $100 so I was satisfied with the purchase. I am in no way an audiophile but I love my music and can tell the difference between washed out sound and high definition clarity. If you really need that thumping bass that shakes your brain, get some nice in-ear headphones around the same price range. But with comfort and lightness its side, these BOSE around-ear headphones will compete with any headphones around the same price range in sound quality and clarity. Some have complained that they feel cheap and break easily. I have found that they are lightweight which make them appear cheap, but in my month of testing (definitely not being SUPER careful with them), I haven't had such problems.

I spent the extra money for these thinking they would stay in my ear as I jog,,,well I was very dissappointed, they slide out as you work out more intensly..the name makes it sound like they will expand and fit your ear tight, but they do not..I was happier with the five dollar panasonic from amazon, they actually fit better. the sound on these jvc is good, but the eighteen dollar retail is not worth it...you will be happier with the ten dollar jbuds thru amazon, they are much better, I bought a pair.

This headphones really isolates background noise. It is good enough that I use it as a earplug.

The built has a rubbery feel. Bass quality are really impressive.

Not recommended when driving because you won't hear the road noise outside the vehicle like

ambulance, car honking, or your passenger talking to you.

"Very, very good earbuds - not perfect." 2009-09-21
By Lawrence V. Mendoza (Northern California)
Interestingly, these JVC Marshmallow earbuds are a bit controversial - notice that the comments are all over the board - there's alot of love and "not love" here. Having owned these for several months now, I believe I can put my finger on a few salient points:

1. These are finicky to fit. I found it took me over a month of toying with these, and switching back and forth between the different foam earpieces before I settled on a fit. It's a combination of pressure and size, and it's not easy to find the "magic point" where they leap to their fullest sound. However once they do, they really take off. The MOST sensitive to fit is the bass response - off just a little and it effectively vanishes. I also found a substantial difference in bass response just between the foam earpieces. I'm not surprised that many people simply run out of patience with these, and can't or won't ever get 'em right, which is too bad because the sonics are worth the effort.

2. These are very sensitive to the quality of your MP3 player. I have both "high end" MP3 players (Creative and Rio), and several no-name players, and the sound difference between them in the JVCs is quite dramatic. With the off-brand players (no manual EQ) there simply isn't a setting at which these headphones sound great, even with the proper fit. However, with the "high end" players, the sound quality is very, very good.

3. When you get the JVCs right, they are very, very good. I am an audio enthusiast, and I have quite a stomach for fiddling with my systems to get things right. When you get the JVC Marshmallows right - proper fit, quality MP3 player, hi resolution music - these things spring to life. The box touts the bass frequency down to 8MHz (!) BUT they do run strongly below 40hz with proper material, and it's quite clean and sharp. The midrange is not bad per se, just a bit laid back - "soft" would be the word - and not at all offensive - in fact for many types of music, it works well - for instance, strong male vocals on heavy recordings can be fantastic - the marshmallows do Chris Isaak at 320kbps MP3 beautifully. Highs are bright and airy - they need no help from either the material or the MP3 settings, and can easily be over-sharpened.

When you get 'em right, the JVC Marshmallows reproduce very, very good sound, and have an easy "listenability" to them - you can use them all day without fatigue. Just don't over-brighten or over-bass them too much. And they are an excellent training ground for eventually moving to higher end in ear systems, since the way you put these in your ears is essentially the same as with the Big Dollar boys. So 5 stars for sound quality, less a star for the finicky fit. However, I applaud JVC for introducing a product to the low end market (under $20) with so much in common with more expensive earbuds, including very good sound.

"Much better than iPod phones, and even better than the Sony's but not perfect." 2009-09-14
By S. Power (Detroit, Michigan, United States)
**Update 1**

(16SEP09)

I ran with these again today, and am starting to think that for running I gave them too many stars. I spent way too much of my run having to adjust them and re-insert them. At some points, as they first started to work themselves loose in my ear, they created a thumping noise in my ear with every step as the marshmallow vibrated against my ear. Another problem with these, is that they are so stubby, that the bent part of the bud pushes against the lower part of your ear when fully inserted. After 30 or 40 minutes of running, this actually gets painful.

Again, these might be fine for sitting on an airplane or studying but for working out, especially running, they are NOT RECOMMENDED.

**Base Review**

(15SEP09)

I bought these yesterday at Walmart. They charged me $19 plus tax, so you are definitely much better off buying these at Amazon.com. Learn from my mistake. Yes, for some products, Walmart is cheaper but not for much.

I have almost never used the stock Apple iPod headphones. Those Apple ones don't fit nor stay in my ears very well. Because of the bad fit, they don't sound very good.

These JVC headphones are supposed to fit well and isolate noise. They do both better than the Apple headphones, and slightly better then the similar Sony ear buds that I have been using for years. The Sony's that I'm comparing these against have silicon replaceable buds, similar but not as foamy as the JVC "marshmallow buds". I replaced the Sony's with these, because they stop working after about four months of running with them. I assume this is because of sweat getting into them and corroding the speakers. I don't know whether or not this will be an issue with the JVC headphones yet, but if they stay in place better than the Sony ones, they should. I think the Sony ones get so much sweat in them, because of constantly having to be re-inserted in the ear, and therefore pushing sweat in the speakers.

The noise isolation of these headphones definitely works well, especially for the money. When you first insert them, it is very noticeable, and would work very well for lawn work or flying. I wear Bose QC2 headphones for flying and these aren't quite up to that level, but for the price, they are certainly a cost effective alternative.

When I first started running with JVCs, I was very impressed with how well they were staying in place in my ears. I was starting to think that I would complete my whole run without having to reinsert or adjust them. That lasted until I started to get pretty saturated in sweat. I don't know if there are sweat glands in your ears, but I was thinking that if they stayed in place, they wouldn't get sweat on them, and would therefore stay in place. Either they loosened up on their own at this point, or the sweat caused them to work free, but eventually, they came loose and I had to reinsert them.

The sound quality of these is very good, at least as good as the Sonys.

In summary, these are the best running headphones that I have used, but are not perfect. I recommend them.

Got them for my motorcycle. They work fine and the quality is good. I find the JVC HAF66B's a little more comfortable and bloc outside sound better. I like the ability to push a slide up the wire to bring it tighter under my chin and pretty much elimiate any cable noise.

 "good idea...that doesn't work" 2009-10-22
By iiigoiii
the designers had a good idea for the foam earpieces on these headphones - make them like earplugs that you have to roll between your fingers, then upon insertion they'll expand and provide a good seal. great idea, but...

the problem is that the foam has a slick coating on the outside, probably to reduce the amount of gunko that they'll collect. that means that as soon as they get jostled a little bit (and especially if they get sweaty), they slip right out - useless for running.

i tried both of the sets of foam provided, but they looked identical in shape and size.

I've had a lot of earphones (Shure e3c, XtremeMac FS1, Sony MDRs) over the years and am usually good at losing them, so when I saw a deal to get JVC Marshmallow's in black for $8, I pounced on it. I was not expecting much but they block out sound well, fit comfortably, have adequate cord length and sound like they are worth 5x the purchase price! These earbuds are sturdy and have lasted longer than the others (though I lost the Shures..oops). I've used these in the subway and on planes and they preform well. Really for the $9-15 price range they sell for, you cannot go wrong.

 "Not for enjoyment listening" 2009-09-27
By Eric Mars (San Francisco, CA)
I have a lot of headphones. And have had for many years. I have these, and love them. These are closed-ear, clinical, precise sounding cans. They are hot on your ears. They are harsh. They are good for mixing recordings because they consolidate a lot of listening experiences. When you're mixing music, you need to listen on a variety of sources, sources you expect your music to be heard on: iPod earbuds, car stereos, AM radios, Disco sound systems etc. These are great because they relentlessly show detail. If your mix sounds good on these things, it'll sound good on anything. BUT If you are looking for a comfortable, moving listening experience; check out Grado. Audiophile quality, rich and beautiful. Recordings mixed with these Sony's will sound spectacular on Grados. These are an incredible tool, but they are built for a purpose, and it's work, not pleasure.

"Quite Simply the Best Headphones for the Price" 2009-09-22
By DeeJaye6
Over 20 years ago, I had started working at Circuit City and I wanted to buy a good pair of headphones, especially since I got an employee discount of store cost. :-) I tried on all the headphones on the rack, not listening to anything; I just snapped my fingers and listened to how well each headphone muffled the sound. The Sony MDR-V6 pair did the best job. Based on that, I bought them. Imagine my shock when I listened to them and realized that they gave me better sound than my actual speakers did! Over the 20 years since then, the padding disintegrated, and in my last move, they got... um. A bit crunched. I was heartbroken, as I remember Sony replacing the V6 with a far lesser pair of V600 headphones. They had (I thought) renamed the V6 and tripled the price. Not so, apparently! I found my current pair of V6s right here on Amazon for the exact price I'd paid for them (at cost, remember) back in 1987!!

If you have any desire to hear your music without distraction, if you want the headphones that professionals use, if you want to have sounds coming at you that you cannot even *hear* but more feel, then buy these headphones!

The sound quality is unparalleled in its price range. Even going double or triple the price does not guarantee you a better pair of headphones, but there are some at higher prices. Point is, you don't need to go that high for top-quality 'phones. The 10-foot cord may seem like overkill, but when you need to get up from your chair to close that window, or answer the phone you left on the cradle on the other side of the room, or to look out the front window to see whatever, you will appreciate not being tethered. Those ten feet equal freedom of movement that couples with phenomenal sound.

The phones even let you do that little thing you see professionals do in those shows, where they flip an earpiece over and hold it up to their ear without putting the band over their head! Or, flip one *while* it's over your head to enable a friend to listen to what you're listening to!

I have read some people saying that these phones are uncomfortable. I cannot imagine how that is possible. The padding is quite comfortable (if short-lived in the earpads), and they manage to be snug without being constricting.

These are, of course, NOT headphones to be worn while exercising unless you really want your ear pads soaked in sweat. But that aside, these honest-to-goodness studio monitors will faithfully reproduce any sound you can throw at them, and never give you distortion from having the music turned up too loud. You may go deaf from it.... But it won't be distorted! :-)

 "Brilliant Audio Experience" 2009-09-19
By Barry Pewtress (Morgan, UT United States)
I have been on a quest for the perfect set of headphones for many long years and I am glad to say that about three months ago my quest ended in success! I purchased these headphones based on the other reviews I have read but because of their price I didn't expect what I got. These headphones are amazing. The sound is wonderful and enjoyable across all frequency ranges. People say in other reviews that these have good bass, but that is really only a small part of the full picture. I have a really costly and professionally setup Klipsch surround setup in my house and I have to say that since I got these headphones that setup has been largely ignored. I find it thoroughly enjoyable to just sit and get lost in the incredible sound reproduction of these headphones. I generally listen to high bit-rate AAC files on my Ipod Touch, and while that is a great experience, these phones really shine when used through a headphone amp like a good audio reciever or a stand-alone amp. I've rambled long enough, just buy these things if your looking for good headphones.

Hands down, best headphones I've had up until now. They also came in a timely manner, my crappy Koss before this had died on me and were terribly bass heavy. Thought I would try something different and wasn't disappointed. Shipping was also quick because I'd ordered them a few days before my camping trip and they came the day of.

 "Massive improvement over the ipod/iphone pack-ins" 2009-09-29
By glop (KY)
Having read some of the less positive reviews, I put off getting these for a long time, but finally picked them up last week, since logic insists that the dual element driver cannot be anything but an improvement, and others with similar technology cost more than my iphone did.. The improvement in bass response over the earbuds included with my ipod and iphone is really major. The sound is shockingly clear and the bass is just so much more than I expected- not overpowering, but much much richer and more clear. I can only assume that people who didn't care for them were wearing them wrong, as the difference is really very dramatic. I will still drag my iphone pack-ins along for phone calls, but for music I wouldn't use anything other than these. Very very happy I picked them up.

 "Inferior product" 2009-09-27
By sannat99 (Philadelphia, PA)
I received the BOSE earphones as a gift last year and it was stolen while i was on vacation. Those earphones were the best at filtering out outside noise and were pretty comfortable. I had a problem with one of the ears not having the clearest sound after a few months and the company sent me a NEW ONE after I sent back the old one...NO questions asked and very efficiently.

I went to Apple and the representative convinced me that the Apple in set headphones were $20 cheaper and just as good. WRONG. First of all, they fall out of your ears frequently especially if you are working out. They can collect dirt and ear wax. They are not as good at filtering sound as the BOSE ones. After a few months, the left ear lost sound. I wanted to exchange for a new set and I was told that I needed to make an appointment with their technical support agent to see if I would qualify for an exchange. Are you kidding? The headphones are not the iPhones...either they work or not and it does not take a GENIUS to figure that out or a lot of time. Spend the extra money and buy the BOSE phones...their product and their customer service are SUPERIOR.

"Perfect once you replace the rubber buds!! Survived the wash too." 2009-09-26
By SparX (NY, New York)
I bought this, and was sour spring and summer because these things would not hold in my ears (tried all the sizes). I mean, they would hold but the whole time I could feel it slipping out and I would have to push them back in every 4 songs to keep that tight fit. Tight fit means you hear the bass, which is clearly there. The dual drivers help in that aspect. You do get a full sound, but again those annoying rubber buds!

So one day I thought I lost them and I went shopping for a new pair and wasn't gonna buy the same apple kind either but all the other brands were more expensive/didn't have the dual drivers, so I decided to lay off. I found my pair in my shorts after it had gone through the laundry. Still works!! +1. Decided to go google searching and I came to a website: [...], where they offer specific foam replaceable tips for all sorts of headphones. I ordered a 3-pair pack and these headphones are perfect now. It costs [...] which brings the total for these headphones to [...] which is FAR cheaper than the other brands yet sounds better (dual-drivers).

So look at it this way: Buy these in-ear headphones for the sound, and not the fit, because the fit (those rubber tips) are worth 1% of what you're paying. Take care of the fit afterwards with foamy ones, and I promise you'll be quite satisfied with these headphones then.

Conclusion: Survived the wash, amazing sound w/ clear bass, compatible with Comply Foam Tips T-140.

"Apple in-ear headphones with remote & mic" 2009-09-24
By LouM (Florida)
Very pleased, this is the 3rd set I have bought and finally I can

hear well with my ITouch. The first two sets work well as far as the

mic is concerned, thank goodness, but in a noisy location the more

expensive set block outside noise much better!

"Very comfortable, pretty mediocre and baseless sound." 2009-09-20
By S. Stanley (Denver, CO USA)
Sound is a very personal thing. That's the only way I can imagine that the positive reviews of these earphones make sense. They are the most comfortable, sealing type of earphones I've tried and that does count for something. However, like all Apple audio products connected with iPod land, they have very poor lower range. No oomph. That is especially odd for sound isolation type earphones (and yes, I have the perfectly fitted with the right silicone adapters on). Just as iPods lack the ability to pump out much bass without distortion (I have a 3 Gen Nano and a new iPod Touch) compared to products such as iRiver, sony, or Samsung players, these earphones seriously lack the ability to product robust bass. They are very bright which I find fatiguing to my ears. I also have a pair of Sony EX85LPs. Those sound vastly superior to these Apple phones, on any of my players (iPod, iRiver, & Sony). If you like at least the ability of phones to reproduce solid bottom end while retaining clear mids and highs, I'd recommend those Sonys instead or a pair of Sennheisers (though, in my experience, the comparable Senns have a terrible cord that annoys the heck out of your neck). To each his own on sound, but I think the Sony's are a lot better in this price range than these Apple phones.
