 "Excellent FM transmitter :D" 2009-10-22
By Andres Lopez (New Jersey)
I just received this transmitter and I LOVE IT... the sound quality is great. even though I live in the city i get great signal. I had a iTrip ($40) and it was crappy. All this expensive brands want to steal your money. FYI I have an iPod touch 1st gen. and it charges it too. the only downside is that i wish the cable was a little longer. GREAT product... :)

"FM Transmitter / Charger Review" 2009-10-06
By A. Hakim (Tampa, FL)
I have tried many of these so called FM modulator/transmitter/charger but this one was among the best one I've seen. Not only it charged my iPod Nano 4th Generation but it easily transmitted the song over any of my FM channel. The best part is that it transmits from 87.5 upward and I find 87.5 & 87.7 as the best channels in most (if not all) places I visit. I live in Tampa (FL). I have had this for about 3 weeks so I can't say how long it will last but so far so good.

Pros: Small, easy to use.

Cons: Short cable. Music doesn't sound as good as CD but that's how it is with most FM modulators.

"Does exactly what I need it to do." 2009-09-29

As far as FM transmitters go, this one is the best I've had yet for the price. I spent [...] on my firs one (a Griffin) only to have it crap out on me 6 months later. My second (another Griffin, but only [...]) similarly only lasted about six months. Only time will tell how long this one will last, but for the price, I'm a lot more willing to buy something only lasting 6 months.

I specifically bought this one because I hoped it would charge my 2nd generation iPod Touch, which it does.

As far as sound quality goes, it's not better than any other FM transmitter I've had, but it fulfills its purpose and I can hear my music with minimal static.

 "Good for the price" 2009-09-28

I will admit that I was skeptical about this transmitter. I was almost sure that the quality wouldn't be as good as the Griffin iTrip that i had before. I was only in the market for a new transmitter because the port on the iPod touch is different than other iPod models making my old transmitter useless.

I went ahead and ordered it, figuring that if it sucked I could return it. I am pleasantly surprised. The quality is very good, in my opinion, it is comprable to the more expensive models. It's easy to use, and works well with ALL ipod models (I have a classic 60gb as well).

Although the quality isn't as good as a direct line in, it holds its own with other FM transmitters. My ONLY complaint is that the cord is VERY short and requires me to find an alternate place for my ipod. I'm hoping the coiled cord will loosen up over time and give me more space, but overall, great product.

 "Nothing special" 2009-08-19

This transmitter seems slightly less powerful than the one it replaced (only slightly). The one I had before was a little black bullet looking thing, it seemed to come in a little clearer.

However, I bought this one for two reasons other than transmitting:

Pros:

a. it charges my Nano 4th generation

b. it remembers the last channel it was on

Cons:

a. the cord is not very long (making it limited for routing wires for holders)

b. it seems to distort at higher volumes (tried different EQ settings)

c. it sticks out over either of my cup holders (making the cup holder hard to use) 05 Tacoma

d. volume only controllable by stereo (minor issue)

All in all it does what it claims, but I have yet to find the ultimate FM transmitter.

I will most likely replace it when I can find one that can charge my Nano, remember at least one channel, sound good at higher volumes, and have wires or a harness that are easily routable.
