It works, good value for the price.



Charges the my IPod Touch 2G, plays audio through the FM transmitter without using the headphone jack.



This device seems to be designed for the older Ipod Nano the Ipod touch covers the backlit display and the IR remote sensor. There is a clock that starts at 00:00 every time power is applied to the unit and seems to count how many minutes the device has been powered on. I haven't been able to figure out how to set the clock. It has memory for the radio transmission frequencies you use (requires use of the remote to program and use).



this is cheaply constructed, but you get what you pay for, and it works fairly well for what it cost.



The IPod connector built into the unit works perfectly for charging and playing audio.



Then there is an extra USB charging port and an audio input 3.5mm jack for other devices than the ipod. In order to charge the IPod Touch 2G through the USB port on the unit , I had to take the unit apart and solder the two data pins together. Otherwise the IPod thinks it is a computer USB and will not go into charge state because it is waiting for a data signal.



After soldering the USB data pins, I can use my iGPS360 GPS receiver, which uses a standard USB connector to charge itself and the IPod, and the 3.5mm audio connector to get voice driving directions through the FM transmitter (with the IPod upside down described below).



If I use the headphone jack on the IPod I have to turn the IPod upside down to get it to stay in the mount because there is a lip on the bottom of the unit, needed to hold the bottom of the IPod in the mount, and it blocks the headphone jack of the Ipod. The lip BTW is too narrow in my opinion and the IPod easily slips out of the mount unless the mount is tilted back.

I bought this adapter because my teenage son broke the last one (-- as our old one had to be removed every time the car got put into park... too big and bulky by the gear shift.)



So - this had decent reviews and the price was more than right. I figured if we were going to keep breaking them, that investing in a nice one was not a good plan.



Much to my delight - it sounds great (17 year old agrees!~) and it seems like it will be reasonably durable. Most important- it's compact enough that it doesn't need to be removed to park the car! It fits my nano 3rd gen - and also son's new itouch easily.



Glad I didn't buy an expensive one that I am guessing wouldn't be much nicer than this anyway!!!



So, we are definitely pleased with our purchase. I don't expect it to last forever, but it seems like it might have a few years in it? We have been using it for 2 months now and still are not disappointed.

I recently bought this charger for my brand-new iPhone 3GS because this charger's description specifically says that it works with "3 GS" iPhones. Well, it does not work with the iPhone 3GS. My iPhone 3GS displays a warning about "accessory not supported", and refuses to charge. Some people report that this works with older 3GS phones, so my guess is that there is something about the newer 3GS iPhones that has changed.



Now Belkin wants me to spend another $50 of my time/effort/money to exchange a $25 product. Sure! I just love doing that. I should never have bought a Belkin product in the first place.



My advice: Spend the extra $5 or $10 and buy an Apple product from the Apple store. It will just work and you can get on with your life.

I have an Otterbox Defender case and most chargers won't fit the opening. So,buying this one was a risk. It's a tight fit. But it works great. I had to use a nailfile a tiny bit in the edges so it wasn't so snug. But after that. It's great. It has an indicator light to tell you when it's done and the cord is long enough to handle you iPhone while it remains plugged in. I really like it.

Well this seems to have a strong signal and comes in very clear on every station i have tried it with. The remote needs a direct line of sight with the top of the device, which makes no sense and is very poorly designed. If it does have that line of sight it does work like it is supposed to though. The plug that goes into the cigarette lighter only grounds to one of the prongs instead of both which causes problems on some outlets that have open spots on them and it should be a little tighter so it doesnt lean over on bumpy roads. For the price and a little bit of time to fix the grounding problem and the tightening, i think it is worth it. For a little more i'm sure you can find one that wont have these simple problems though.

I got this for my ipod touch... I think it's 3G. Anyway, when I saw this, I thought it was too good to be true. I was expecting that it wouldn't work, but then I thought that the case and screen protector alone were worth more than 5$ (With shipping and handling), and if the wall charger didn't work, I still had a case and a screen protector. When I got everything, I tested it all. Everything except the armband worked. Don't use that thing, it dangles your ipod too much. But since everything else worked so well, I decided I would put a five star review up. I am extremely happy about this bargain. I just think that it should be eligible for Free Supersaver Shipping. No one will probably read this since it is a positive review, and people want to know what is wrong with this product... where nothing was wrong with mine. I might have just been lucky, but mine was fine.

One last note about the shipping... and the screen protector. Everything was shipped in a manila envelope with bubble wrap in cheap plastic bags, with no instructions (not that you would need any) except for the screen protector, and the screen protector's instructions were on the bag and completely in Japanese or Chinese... or maybe even Korean. No offense, but I don't know the difference. But they have photos, and basically you take off the wrapping and press it down, trying to get no bubbles of air in there. I suggest constantly leaving a corner off the ipod until it stays off so you can take it off if you need to. The best part is, it's completely without adhesive. At the Apple Store prices are USB power adapter: $29, USB Cable: $19, Screen Protector $15... you get the point. I found this FM transmitter to be a bit more fuzzy than the average car adapter. It isn't terribly noticable if you are playing music, especially music with distortion. However listening to spoken word such as audiobooks or stand up comedy can be a chore.



The charger works ok, but doesn't really provide much of an umphf. It seems to be best suited for keeping the Iphone at the charge it was at when you plugged it in more than actually recharging the battery. Ok product, but you can probably do better.

I bought this device to both charge the iPhone and play music through the radio. You MUST find a blank frequency or the background station will likely distort your music. Even on a clear frequency, the highs are slightly clipped. The cord is coiled but only reaches about 2 ft. This barely makes it to the front seat where I lay the device and wants to pull it off the seat. Make sure your lighter socket is fairly close to where you want to locate the device. Selecting a frequency is straight forward as well as the on/off button. The connector locks into the device and you must squeeze the tabs on the side of the connector to release it. Overall, not bad - gets the job done.

I'm pretty new to the Ipod world, so I don't have much of a basis for comparison. However, this product has met my needs for a device that would play my Ipod through the car's stereo system while recharging the battery.



In researching for a car adapter, I saw that many people said that you should avoid an FM transmitter and go with a device that uses the AUX outlet (if you have one). Of course an AUX outlet doesn't recharge the Ipod battery so you'd have to go with a separate battery charger and adapter combo. Another advantage of an FM transmitter is that you can use it in a more basic car without an AUX outlet.



At first the transmitter picked up a lot of static from the recommended frequency. I could see how someone living in a metro area (and I live in the suburbs of the NY tristate area) could have trouble finding a static free frequency. Luckily I was able to find a better frequency and the sound for the most part has been quite good. However, I still occasionally have to reset the frequency when traveling a distance and there are some (thankfully small) zones where there's always a bit of static.



Otherwise, I'm very happy with this product.
