Convenience
The dock adjusts to fit the iPhone and most iPod models without removing them from the case, and a smart audio sensor controls the kit's power automatically. Support
Backed by Kensington's two-year warranty, the LiquidAUX also comes with free technical support.

Important Note: Sound Effects
When using an auxiliary device in the car, you might hear a slight buzzing sound, engine noise, or high-pitched whine. That is because your car model has a grounding issue between the audio system and the power socket, which causes a whining or buzzing sound when you drive. This sound is not caused by your Kensington product; however, Kensington has an easy solution. Simply purchase an automotive ground loop isolator for your car that is compatible with a 3.5-mm jack. This simple tool will enable you to use your music in a safe, hands-free environment.

Kensington can provide you with a ground loop isolator free of charge by calling Kensington's Technical Support team at (800) 535-4242. Please provide the serial number of your LiquidAUX product when you call Technical Support, and the company will arrange to ship you the ground loop isolator.

What's in the Box
Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit, remote control, and 4-foot audio extension cable.

 "Love It!" 2009-10-23
By L. Rettig
I love this item. The remote is so handy instead of trying to reach down to change my music I just hit the advance on the remote that's on my steering wheel! The car charger part doesn't have much give so I did have to buy an extender for $3.00 so the cradle worked properly but it was well worth it!

 "Minor Nuisance Issue" 2009-09-29
By T. Porter
Only real problem is that all 12v are not the same so my unit tends to flop around slightly and has to be position just right or the power connection becomes intermittent.

"Nice Product. Needs some refining" 2009-09-23
By David Peter (Sutton, MA United States)
This car kit in general is very nice. My only complaint is that the gooseneck that holds the phone in position should be able to lock in place. As is, you bend it to your liking and go on your way. Over bumps and touching the device, the position moves. It would be nice if you could find your optimum position and the lock it there so it wouldn't move over time and travel.

"Brilliant charging, audio piping, cradle for the iPhone" 2009-09-16
By C. Pinkney
I was looking for a cradle that plugged in to the car lighter socket to both charge and hold my iPhone and also had an Aux output for connecting to the car stereo in my 2005 Nissan Sentra and this fits the bill perfectly. It is a much neater solution than a mount with a windscreen suction cup and cables going everywhere in my opinion and I have also had my car broke into before just for having a GPS mount in the windscreen as so many people leave their dedicated GPS devices in the glovebox. This is much more discrete and while I feel safe leaving it in the socket all the time, being an all in one unit it is easy to remove and put back and fits in the door side pocket.

After reading other mixed reviews I thought I would still give it a try and have had no issues with it so far. I have it standing up vertically from the Sentra's socket by one of the cup holders and it has never fallen over with the iPhone in it. My iPhone 3G has a silicone case and my wife's 3GS has a hard case and both fit in the cradle without issue and are gripped firmly. The build quality seems fine to me and for those who seem to think one of the side arms are not releasing, you may not realize this cradle has a feature that when the cradle is in landscape orientation only the upper arm will release so that the iPhone does not drop out. The sound quality is also on par with connecting the iPhone's headphone socket directly into the car's Aux socket and I do not get any high pitch noise in my car (grounding issue with some car makes.)

It is great being able to control the iPod music from the steering wheel and it also works well with car navigation apps, which is another big reason I wanted to get a powered cradle with Aux output. To do away with having to haul another device around (dedicated GPS) I have started using the iPhone app Gokivo for car navigation, which works really well. The voice commands are piped over the Aux connection as expected so they come through loud and clear over the car's speakers and the app, like several others, fades out any iPod music playing in the background (the steering remote still works while the GPS app is running!), gives the voice instruction, and then fades the music back in. All this works out of the box and is very seemless. It's just a shame Apple won't let the likes of Pandora run in the background and use the remote iPod controls - that would be killer. About the only issue I have is the positioning of the lighter socket in my Sentra means one of the cup holders is blocked and the iPhone is held quite low down just below the radio, but with the steering remote control for music and apps like Gokivo that announce street names, etc this isn't much of an issue and is more Nissan's design flaw anyway. Last but not least, another great touch is that when I turn my car off, as the lighter socket loses power it automatically stops the music playing on the phone.

 "Fits in a Mini" 2009-09-13
By Freddy S. Maya (Florida)
Well so far this would be the best ipod car dock i have ever tried, simply because of the steering wheel control, about fitting in a mini well its a tight fit but it fits, the neck on the dock is kind of weak, if i accelerate the ipod plops down, but i found a solution, i used a cable zip tie i wrapped the neck with a rubber sleeve and i used the zip tie to hold it down and well, now it does not plop over any more, as for the remote syncing problem that some people have complained about so far i have not had any, yet once i disconnected my ipod while the car was on and this happened, i guess you just have to plug your ipod in before you turn on the car, but so far great car ipod dock, and one last tip Kensington will send you a ground loop isolator for the dock for free.
