"Broke down after 6 weeks and litle use" 2009-09-15

The title says it all except that it replaced another, different Altec Lansing iPod player and amplified speaker system that broke down after 4 years

 "Great Altec Lansing T612!!!" 2009-09-15
By H. Jonathan K. Park
I did my homework before buying this iPod docking player 2 months ago. I chose this model only because of its favorable rating history. I was very impressed with the audio and the looks of this thing. It looks and feels much better than the photos I've seen. I was also happy to see that my old, ancient iPod (4th gen 20gb iPod from 2004---size of a small refrigerator) docks nicely with this unit. The only downside is that the remote control does not allow me to navigate through the different playlists on my iPod. The most it can do is skip forwards and backwards. But I think that's a common thing among other docking players. Overall, I love this player.

"Big sound from a little device" 2009-09-13

Specifically bought this for a move into a new house. Plugged it in, dropped on my iPhone (it charges the 3G), and filled the house with energizing tunes. It has been two weeks and I still haven't got around to hooking up my Bose surround system--it might be awhile.

 "Great Product" 2009-09-12

I was leaning towards a Bose sounddeck but didn't want to spend that much so I decided to go with the Altec Lansing. It is as good as or better than the Bose. My son has the Bose and we did a comparison and we could not tell much difference. This is a great product especially for the price.

 "Post-Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere" 2009-09-12
By S. K. Harrell (NC)
I purchased this device in reaction to being disapointed with the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere. The Altec sounds great for my purposes and it's portable enough (though a carrying case would have been nice). The controls function easily enough, Bass and Treble are not high end but they are good enough for this price-range. My only disappointment is with the remote, in that you can only control Power, Volume, Treble, and Bass. You can't control the iPod, itself, via the menu or alter its play mode. I find that to be the only real let down of this device. If the remote was slightly more robust I would have given the Altec 5 stars.
