"Small, Cheap, and Pretty Good" 2009-10-15
By N. Penry (America!)
This is about the smallest you're going to find a portable speaker, and the best part is that it's Li-Ion battery powered. The battery only lasts a few hours, but a quick USB charge fixes that. It doesn't get extremely loud (I have to crank it to at least 90% of my Zune 80's volume level to hear it in the shower), but it does begin to distort a high volume levels, especially in the bass. Overall, for my purposes, the price, portability, and pretty good sound quality (for its size), this is a great buy!

 "Excellent product" 2009-10-14
By Alexander Stadlin
For the price, this product can NOT be beat. This speaker, which is absolutely SMALLER than you might ever expect based on the picture, packs a LOT of sound into a very portable package.

However, I do have one small nickfit: The opening chamber part (One of those cool features it has) does NOT open as much as the picture shows it: it actually only opens a small amount (And I'm not sure if it really does much, aside from make it look cooler)

Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a portable way to carry a LOT of sound around in a speaker that will even fit in their pocket.

(In case anyone was wondering, it does use a rechargeable battery, and connects to a computer via USB to charge. I just charge it whenever I charge my iPod, and it doesn't take long for it to charge, and it is usable for days.

 "Great Sound!" 2009-10-09
By Kim (New Jersey)
I bought this to replace a small cheap pair of speakers for my mp3. The sound is fantastic! With my old speakers I had to turn the volumn up on my mp3 in order to hear; with this speaker I can turn the sound down and still hear it in the next room. I found that I can use it 2-3 full days (7-8 hours per day) before I need to recharge it. There really are no cons to this product.

 "Tidy Little Jigger..." 2009-10-05
By Kent R. Runge (Otter Tail County, MN United States)
I use this to improve on the sound quality of my MacBook's internal speakers; I like it but every now and then it calls out in a weird screech that lasts until I pull the USB plug out of the USB jack on my Mac.

We have a pair of the iHome Stereo speakers we use variably with our Mac and our iPods...those are cool too but not as compact as this item. A great add to a laptop bag...

 "Wow" 2009-10-04
By Scott (Bronx, NY)
This may be the best purchase I've made from amazon. This speaker kicks ass. The sound quality is amazing for it's size. You can comfortably take this anywhere with you in your pocket. Tiny! Usb rechargeable feature means you never have to worry about batteries. Lasts about 3-4 hours continuous play per charge. Great for pairing with a netbook if you want to bring extra sound along with you. If you have to be outdoors where there is a lot of ambient noise this speaker may not have the power unless you are 3 feet away or so. Still a remarkable piece of engineering and a great buy.

 "Little teeny lifesavers!" 2009-09-25
By S. Kessler
I recently bought my first iPod (had a Zen MP3 player before this) and wanted portable speakers that could go with us on trips where we often stay in B&B-type lodgings that don't have TV or other media in the room. Also wanted something for the car other than an FM-transmitter which does not work well in the NYC-area due to the enormous number of stations on the radio and very little "open" space on the dial. We don't have a CD-player in our car or a plug in for an iPod.

I bought this directly from the Apple Store at the same time I bought my iPod Classic and paid more than I should have, obviously. Still they were the best deal for true portability. I was amazed at how small they were when I opened the package and even more amazed at the relatively big sound quality when I plugged the iPod in. Much, much better than the portable speakers I had for my Zen. And I didn't even need to charge them -- they were fully charged out of the box. The little bag they came with is great -- the whole package fits neatly in my purse.

A few days later, we were off on a much-needed mini-vacation in the country. Sadly, while there, I fell and broke my ankle. I then had to endure a 2 1/2 hour car trip home, stretched out on the back seat of the car with my leg in a very uncomfortable position. I whipped out the little speakers; laid them on the back seat next to me; plugged in the iPod, and the setup proceeded to relieve both my pain and my boredom (and my poor husband's boredom while he was doing a "Driving Miss Daisy" chauffeur routine for me). The sound was great -- very clear -- and fairly loud considering how small they are. He could hear great up in front, and I was nicely distracted sitting in the back.

So these cute little life-savers get a "thumbs up" from me. Can't wait to take another long car trip so we can use them some more.

 "Quality for size" 2009-09-23
By Steve Jensen (Shelbyville, TN United States)
These are smaller than I thought they would be. That being said the sound that they prduce is better than what I expected for speakers their size. Very conveinient to carry to the pool or while detailing the car. The little carry bag that comes with it holds everything nicely. Not a room speaker system but great for what they were made for.

"nice footprint, decent sound, but the hissing noise is annoying" 2009-09-09
By Bryan J. Cohen (Columbus, OH)
I'm not going to rehash what a lot of people have already said about the speakers. They sound decent, especially considering their size. I think you can get a lot more sound out of full size speakers, especially for the $50, but if you want portability, these are nice.

The con, and to me it is a big one, is the hissing noise. I plugged these in to my MacBook pro and the noise was audible but bearable. On my Mac Mini, the hiss turned into a loud whine, and it was as annoying as stinky wolfbreath.

Now, others have said the battery charge lasts for a while. That may be true. But I hate having to find an open USB port to charge something up when I am NOT on the road. That's just plain annoying. I would prefer to just leave the USB plug in a USB port, and only worry about charging when I travel. Unfortunately this is not the case with these speakers.

 "Okay sound, great portability." 2009-09-03

speakers work as described. would have preferred a longer connecting cord between the speakers.

 "Nice compact speakers." 2009-09-01
By Jeff Roessle (Fontana, CA USA)
I've owned them for about a month.

Decent sound for their size.

Everyone who has heard them is both impressed with their sound and how they shrink and join together for travel.

My only complaint is that they could use a better cable system.
