Until this past week I would have given this pouch 5 stars. However, after running 2x this week with light rain, my sensor died. I have only had the Nike+ system 12 weeks -- which really stinks! I am now looking for a weather proof sensor pouch because with fall and winter around the corner... I am not risking it!......
Works prefect! Easy to put on my shoe and it sure beats buying new shoes!!......
I've had no trouble at all with this case -- it seems to work perfectly. It attaches snugly to the laces, so the Nike+ sensor doesn't flop around, which would (I assume) cause inaccuracy. One nice thing about this approach is that if you don't change shoes after your walk or run, it's very easy to just pop out the sensor so it doesn't use up its battery while you're walking around during the day. It's also easy to move the sensor to a different pair of shoes if you want to let someone else use it. ......
My guess is that an accelerometer will measure more distance if it is placed under your foot, when compared to the top of your foot. When I calibrated my sensor on a treadmill, I ran three miles and the sensor thought it was 2.7 miles. So, either the treadmill was off or the sensor was off. Regardless, I set the calibration in my nano so that it was 3.0 miles and now regardless of the treadmill I use (including other brands), the nano and the treadmills are always within .05 miles of each other. The Marware Sportsuit, is very easy to put on and take off. I like this because I don't use the battery while walking or biking in the same shoes. I also gave up on the armands and now I use a teeny weeny fanny pack: Nathan Gel Waist Pack. The Pack as an "External, mesh Trash Pocket" that holds my ipod nano upside down (with the receiver pointing up, so that when I look down, I can see the ipod screen right side up. The Nike Amp+ iPod Nano Remote Watch should allow you to leave your ipod anywhere you want on your body. That watch in theory will allow you to start/stop/pause/get powersong/activate voice feedback. The Marware Sportsuit performs as expected, with calibration. BTW, you do need to insert the foot pod face down so that it is face up when you flip it around.......
Product wouldn't attach such that the sensor could communicate with my Ipod. Took all the advice - fastened as low and as tightly as I possibly could - didn't work. Ended up taking a drill w/half-inch bit, peeled back the sole insert of my shoe & cut two 1/4 inch holes side-by-side. Cleaned it up with a pocket knife, inserted the sensor & put th sole insert back in. Took less than five minutes & works great. I love the Nike Plus product, but prefer my new Balance running shoes. I was hoping the folks @ Marware had figured out a solution but I don't think so.......
