The ad for this item was very misleading. I was under the impression that we were purchasing the actual Ipod Shuffle. In fact, that was what was shown in the picture associated with the ad. When in reality all that was included was the charging station. So we have 2 charging stations and no ipod shuffles. Needless to say we are not at all happy with the way this transaction turned out.

I charged my Shuffle with this product and it would no longer work. I brought the Shuffle to Apple for diagnosis. They said there was an electrical malfunction that damaged the electronics. When I mentioned that I used an off-brand charger I was told these frequently have the wrong resistance in the transformer and too much voltage 'fries' the electronics. BargainCell couldn't care less, they wanted me to return it for refund. Mailing is more than the refund! All they would say is it's not possible to damage the electronics with their charger. It's pretty easy to figure out if the resistance in the transformer is too low then the voltage to the Ipod will be too high, DUH! I'm not taking any chances with the wall and car chargers I also bought for my Nano, it's unfortunately all going in the trash.

I was able to charge up my shuffle approximately six times before the charger no longer worked. I purchased the charger Jan. 17, 2009 and tossed it in the trash Feb. 12, 2009. I think one star is overly generous.

I bought not one, but two of these. Initially, these worked as described. I bought a new shuffle and had charged it probably 3 times, then on the 4th time, it fried my shuffle - there was no indication of juice in it, at all. I took it to apple, and because it was under warranty, they replaced it. This morning, my second shuffle fried during charging. Completely dead, no chance of revival. Only now the warranty is expired. I just thought I would put this information out there - I am now going to use only those provided by apple to charge these.

Piece of trash!!!!!!! This killed my IPOD Shuffle! Doesnt even transfer songs!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!! Now, when I plug my shuffle into a normal Apple dock, the light just stays green.. and thats it. My Ipod shuffle is not recognised... I was fooled, I thought this would work just fine....Now I am currently searching for another mp3 player, with a simpler charging mechanism.... I've bought (chinese) imports of these things in the past and sometimes they work... and other times they are useless paperweights. I love the post about one of these cheap docks killing a shuffle! You get what you pay for. The unit was shipped in a non-padded envelope and arrived slightly damaged. The docking pin was bent. After adjusting it to where I thought it was aligned properly (straight) and docking the shuffle, the pin snapped off and became lodged in the shuffle. Only after many attempts with a paper clip was I able to dislodge the broken pin from the unit.



Never again.
