I purchased these for my son as a fun holiday stocking stuffer but did not really appreciate them until I borrowed them when my own set broke. Until buying the JBuds, I had been using the Apple set that came with my iPod Shuffle and now do not know how I used those for so long. These are so comfy that I don't even feel them. Other ear buds make my ears hurt from the pressure. I listen to audio books for hours while doing other things and sometimes fall asleep while listening. These stay soft and comfortable the whole time. The sound quality is great as well, at least from what I can tell. Music lovers may notice a difference I cannot when listening to books, but the quality beats Apple's any day. I can't believe how inexpensive they are. I would buy these again and would happily pay more for these.



The customer service from JLabs is incredible, too. I had purchased a more expensive set of JLabs ear buds for myself, but they were damaged (not the product's fault, just an accident). JLab sent me a new pair immediately, without any questions. They sent me an even better pair, too, one with a shorter cable since I had mentioned my preference. I can't remember the last time I received that kind of customer service in any industry. I love the ear buds for their comfort and quality, but I will be a lifelong customer of JLab for their customer service.

I just did a quick A/B comparison of the JLab JBuds ear buds vs. the ones that come with the Sansa Clip+ 8gb, and they are tinny and weak. The factory SanDisk ear buds are much louder at any volume, and have more bass. They do fit well, but for sound quality, save your money.

Look, for the price these are great expect that they're not made to last. I got a couple months good use out of them and then they started shorting out. I didn't do anything more than the normall stuff you do while walking around the city with your iPod. They're just not made to last. If that's no big deal to you then buy them. I, however, prefer to buy something that will last at least a year or two.

I couldn't believe the difference between these and my old pair of earphone. I'm not an audiophile and don't really care about the absolute best sound but these were so markedly better than the last pair I was amazed. I use a netbook to watch movies etc on and had the volume up full to be able to hear things while traveling on the train to work. When I first used these I literally jumped out of my chair the sound was so load - had to turn it down to almost half volume. My other pair were cheap but not that cheap - about mid range I guess...and for the same price I paid for these little gems. Highly recommended.

The first thing I did not like about these ear buds is that they've rather big and heavy. I have a problem keeping ear buds in my ears because I have unusually shallow ears. On the plus side, these ear buds come with different sizes of silicone covers, and the largest size helps wedge it in there. Because the fit is not super tight in my shallow ear, the weight of the base of the ear buds means they tend to slip out more frequently than another set I have by Sony. And they're not super comfortable to begin with either.



But the rub is that they broke after 2 months of light use. The right side bud no longer plays music. I've verified that it's not my ipod because another headset works.



I know I'm in the minority on this one because there are so many positive reviews. I did not expect them to break so soon.

These ear buds are equivalent to listening to music in a can. I use these with my iPhone (using Pandora or iPod apps) and the quality is worse than the standard ear buds the iPhone comes with. Anything over 45 minutes and I get a headache with these.



I lose my ear buds a lot so I keep these around as a standby pair.

I'm going to keep this short and to the point. Over the past 10 or so years, I've used at least 7 pairs of in-ear headphones on a very regular basis. None of the high-end Bose or anything, but the Sony MDR-EX71SL, Sennheiser CX300, Creative Labs EP-630, Lenntek, Skull Candy and probably one or two others. I'd take the J2s over any of them, hands down, for sound quality, comfort, and PRICE. Also, I use headphones every day for many reasons, but most importantly, for the gym. Most, if not all, of the other headphones have the stethoscope effect any time the wire hits your body, the treadmill, etc. Not the J2s. Complete silence.



For the price, there is not a better in-ear headphone. I'm sure the Bose's sound better, but even that I can't attest to. But for the price of one Bose, I can get 5 J2s. I'll take my 5 pairs, thank you.

these ear buds are really good.



pros

*the cord is long- i'm 6'4 and the cord easily gets from my ears to my mp3 player in my pocket

*noise cancellation- once placed in your ear it blocks outside noise and you dont have to turn up volume very high.

*sound quality- really good though its lacking in 1 area (in cons section)

*price- its on $29



con

*bass- its a little weak, i listen to alot of metal and i've noticed that the drum sound weaker on these than my previous one but you will still be able to enjoy them.



wish for:

*no volume control- i wish it came with a volume nob on the cord so i can control the volume without having to access my mp3 player.



these are great ear buds and would be 5 stars if not for the bass problem (which may not be a problem for those who dont listen to bass heavy music).

Fantastic value for the money. I use these every day. I've had them for a month and they are excellent. My in-ear Shure buds stopped working in one ear, but they were 5 years old and had been thru it all. I didn't feel like dropping $200 on replacements and figured I'd give these a go. These headphones have a great sound, but the cord is so noisy! I used them while working out, because the Apple headphones are too big for my ears and either fall out or start to hurt after awhile. These fit great, but anytime the cord hit my shirt, it was so loud and it sounded like I was using a stethoscope. I tried to put up with it because I'm not very picky, but I couldn't... so now I'm back to my Apple ones until I can find something better!

After my original iPod headphones died a few years ago I got the Jbud J2 headphones, they were alright but it took a while to get used to the air-tight seal it placed around my ears. I had those for a few months or so and they were fine then I got the Bose in-ear headphones as a birthday present. I loved the bass in those, quality was great. Then about a year later they broke (cable came out of the left earbud and the audio cut out) so I am sending it back to Bose for a replacement pair, so I needed some headphones that would last me until I got my Bose pair back so I figured I would try the J3s after having had the J2s. I just got them today and so far I am in love with them, they get just as much if not more bass than my Bose pair and quality is great once you burn them in for a few hours (I used JLabs burn in audio file at [...] for a few hours while I was away from my computer). After initial burn in I would say these are on par with my Bose pair, I definitely recommend them. I also like how they no longer create a completely air tight seal when in your ears like my J2s did, they are much more comfortable now. Anyone who complains about the Bass in these headphones really should try out the different size tips, the ones that came with it didn't sound that good to me but once I found the ones that fit best (large) the Bass and sound quality was outstanding.

Overall, a very good pair of earbuds, but for the price ($10) they are outstanding! I usually think earbuds with rubber tips feel strange in my ear after a few minutes, but with the different sized cups that come with the j-buds, you should be able to find the right fit. These buds definitely cancel some outside noise, I'd say I noticed about a 50% drop in ambient noise, which is fantastic for a bus or subway where you don't want to listen to the crazy homeless guy talk to himself but still need to hear the next stop announced. Pretty good sound fidelity, especially for dialogue (I was listening to a movie once and never had to put my ipod above 20% volume). Some may complain about the quality in music, but I found the base and higher notes on Jay-Z's new album sounded great to me.

Overall a great value, and perfect for a set of earbuds while traveling.

I wear these earbuds daily at work in a job with a lot of background noise. They do a good job of reducing the noise, the sound quality is very good, especially for the price. These things have piercing treble. I appreciate the depth of the highs as I like the fact that I hear more of the music. However, when the singer makes an S sound it usually splits my ear. I would have loved more bass but over all these things do sound good. I had to set my iPod on Treble Reducer which lowers some of the other details in the higher range that I enjoy.

i guess if you like hearing every sound you make while gulping, chewing, or even opening your mouth which totally interrupts the sound quality, this could be a good set of buds. i tried these based on the incredible pricing sale offered by amazon (thank you). however, even at the sale price i would not and could not recommend them at all. the other brand i use was compared by several other people with this one and won hands down. sorry to say but this was not even worth the sale price. SOUNDS LIKE POPCORN. (i even changed sizes in case you wondered). maybe it was the wrong color ;)

The sound is very good as long as you hold them with ur hand, otherwise there is no seal between the ear buds and your ear. If you move they will either fall out or just lay in your ear and now the quality of the sound is no longer upto par.



Did not like the 24-48 hour warm up time needed to make them sound better.



I should have read other reviews carefully before buying.



Otherwise really good packaging, good design of the cord, they look like they are made out of high quality material.



It seems like the company knows about this issue, so they provide instrutions on how to loop them over your ear (did not help) and to buy other accessories -- the claim there is that it will seal beatter (not even going to try).



Easier to return, I might buy the origional jbuds it seems that they might seal better.
