 "What solar?" 2009-10-19
By Ann Marie Dennis (Albuquerque, NM)
This gadget has a fake solar panel in it....that's why you have to plug it in. Don't waste your money.

"Would be great if it worked" 2009-10-05
By Scott (NJ)
It worked twice, after that the first problem was the solar panel didn't show it was getting light even though it was right in the sun. Then it started showing it was in enough light but didn't charge the ipod. And from day one it didn't fit the ipod, was to loose and kept falling off. FORGET THIS ITEM!

 "Unreliable" 2009-09-24
By Peter C. Haskell (Houston, TX United States)
I don't understand how amazon could lend its name to this device. It comes with no instructions. I took it on a backtracking trip and placed it in the sun for 30 minutes. The iPhone got very hot--there was a message on the phone's screen not to use the phone until it had cooled down. And, as far as I could tell, no charge had taken place.

"DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM" 2009-09-20
By JackieBeans (Bergen County, NJ)
DO NOT buy this item. I used it twice. It worked flawlessly the first time, however, my second attempt, while I was traveling on business, left me without an Iphone. The unit burned out the battery on my Iphone and I had to buy another Iphone while I was on the road. Apple would not honor the warranty because it is a 3rd party charger that has not been approved by them. Do not, I repeat, do not buy this item and have to shell out another 400.00 dollars to replace your phone. Learn from my mistake.

"Does not work that well" 2009-09-11
By Bryan Hermannsson (San Francisco, CA)
It does work, but I have never seen more than a 10% increase in charge.

"Great Product and Awesome Customer Service" 2009-10-06
By Amazing Shopper
Inquired about the product before purchase and their customer service (via email) is very prompt and informative. After purchasing the product, emailed customer service due to a missing A/C plug and the customer service replied back immediately with a tracking number for the missing product. This charger/external battery is great and very useful.

 "Very well made battery" 2009-10-05
By Ben C. Allin V (Angsila, Thailand)
This little battery is wonderful. I have had a couple of batteries for my iphone in the past and they have been flimsy and do not last very long. This battery is very well made and just keeps going and going. The company is also a joy to work with. I had a problem with the little charger unit that came with it and they sent me a replacement as soon as I mentioned it to them. You will not be disappointed in this battery!!

"Buy from Imax NOT DBROTH!!" 2009-09-29
By Daron Roberts (Denver, Co)
This is a great product! But make sure you buy it from the manufactor and not from the seller DBROTH. The mfg will warranty it for 6mo and DBROTH will only warranty it for 30 days! Mine stopped working after 3 months and thakfully Imax is standing by thier product even when the seller did not.

The battery life is great and surpasses every other product of its kind with a 5000mah battery!

Buy this product! But buy it from Imax Only! DO NOT BUY FROM DBROTH!!!

"Great power extender for iPhone" 2009-09-26
By Vandy Starkweather (Ft. Pierce, FL USA)
I have had this product for about a week, and I really like it. It doesn't just power the iPhone, it actually charges it. After fully charging the IMP500, I have used it to charge my iPhone three times before having to recharge the IMP500. It charges the phone in under two hours. The IMP500 charges in an hour or two as well and holds that charge, at least it did for a couple of days. (I haven't let it sit longer than that without using it.)

I listen to podcasts, music, and talk on the phone all day while I do chores, housework, shopping, etc., using Bluetooth stereo headphones and carrying the iPhone in my pants pocket. The iPhone would run out of battery in three or four hours. When I got this unit, I thought I would have to carry it too, always connected to the phone. It's about the same size as the phone, and I preferred carrying it to running out of power. But this works better than I hoped. Because it actually charges the phone, I only have to carry it long enough to charge. Then I can turn it off and put it to the side for another three hours until the phone runs down again. This means that my phone's power is now virtually unlimited. It's a nice looking unit too, smooth, fits nicely in the hand, but the best thing about it is its performance. I highly recommend it.

 "Degrades in performance quickly" 2009-09-24
By J. Bufford
I was very excited by this product and following the first charging it charged my iPhone more than 3 times before the IMP500 needed recharging. Now, after only about 5 recharges to the IMP500, I am getting only a little more than 1 iPhone recharge. That's about the same as the other mediocre products that I had tried before. Very disappointing and probably shouldn't happen with a product at this price point.
