I bought two of these. Only one of them worked and Griffin Support Technician Mike's solution was for me to return the charger to my place of purchase, brushing off my request for a replacement fuse (which is user-serviceable). When I told him that it would be cheaper to buy a generic charger than to pay return shipping he happily closed the support ticket as "solved."

I've had many Griffin accessories for my iPod and iPhone. But I have to admit that this is the worst!



The cable stopped working for no specific reason after 1 week and the charger collapsed after another week!



This is poorly made, I'm really disappointed!

Just confirming that it works flawlessly with the 3Gs, as others here have stated. Amazon has quite a way of naming products and being vague about details. At the moment the title for this products reads, "Griffin PowerJolt Redesign Home/Car Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G (Black)"



I also want to say that it fits the phone well, clipping into it nicely. Two release buttons are easy to depress and keep the cord securely to the phone when in use. This cord is better than the one that came with the phone and is more like the old iPod cords that had the release buttons. This cord is a few inches longer than the one that comes with the phone and is more than enough for me in my car.



The adapter seats snugly into my cigarette lighter pulls out easily. Removing the USB end of the cord from it is effortless. Overall the fit and finish is nicer than any other charger I've seen to date.

Don't Buy this Charger!!! You have been warned!!! Like several of the other reviews, the car charger worked fine for a couple of days and then, for no reason, stopped working. I checked the built in fuse and that was fine. Tried it in several cars with several iPhone/iPods ... it is dead.

Bought this for my 1st gen iPhone, which I use heavily and doesn't quite make it through the day. Cable is very short, and built-in, which is what I wanted--I didn't want to lose the cable and I wanted a non-white cable that could lay around in the car without screaming "expensive Apple electronics may be in this car".



Anyway, it works great and it's cheap--my fully drained iPhone can be powered up after 5 minutes or so of charging, and otherwise, my iPhone can get a boost between meetings.
