I ordered this Audio/Vis cable and I also received the USB charger kit like the first reviewer .

What really makes it confusing is that on the same order I actually did order the same USB charger so I received 2! Try explaing that to Customer Service since they shipped separately from 2 different sellers and finally everything is being delivered to a 3rd party as a gift so they dont know they are receiving the wrong item(s), Cust SVC was nice though and they gave me credit for the cable and told me to reorder. When I saw the first review I decided I'm going to wait a week to reorder so I dont end up with 3 chargers.

For the most part, the cable does what it's supposed to do, but I agree with some previous reviewers -- it's not up to Apple's standards in terms of design and manufacturing quality. One of the three plugs on my set was too tight to even fit over the jack on my TV (and two additional TVs I tried). The others were extremely tight as well so that unplugging them was very difficult. Most RCA cables have some sort of gripable surface around the plug so you can pull them easily. These plugs are completely smooth -- silly.



A replacement Apple cable I now have is a bit better, with looser plugs. It now works as advertised.

I was very wary of buying a composite cable for my iPhone, not knowing if it would work with the 3GS, or with the 3.0 software. This cable works! It plugs into the yellow/red/white ports on your TV, and has a USB port for power. I bought mine for use with my car stereo (JVC KW-AVX710 7-Inch In-Dash Double-DIN CD/DVD/MP3/iPod Bluetooth-Ready Touchscreen Receiver) using a USB car charger (Scosche Dual USB Car Charger) and, except for the very minor inconvenience of having to control my movies through the iPhone and not on the screen, I havent had a single problem yet. In fact, I am buying another for home use!

Apple has over priced these but make no mistake unless you use their cables with their coded electronics inside you will not get your Ipod movies onto your TV. Then there is the quality. Now you should know that the resolution for an Ipod is not the same as a TV set so there is some blurring. The quality is not as good as a DVD. Expect that.

I bought these cables to be used in a wearable computer with an ipod touch and some vuzix video goggles... big mistake. The screen output is sideways for games, even with a jailbroken ipod touch 2g, you can't get any apps to work widescreen and the video lag is terrible. I wanted a mobile solution but unfortunately this solution just is not worth it.



Only real use for these is getting music and video from the apple music and video apps on to an external receiver with rca inputs, again the video output is laggy and awful if you are trying to use a screenspltr app.



Also if you are plugged into a wall with them you can't watch the video on your touch at all while it is playing through the cable, if that makes sense to you. You also have no tactile feedback when using a screen splitting app with these cables so you just have to tap and guess, especially if you are using video goggles.

Plugged it into my dvd/vcr front, put it on vcr, put it on L1, plugged the touch in and it worked. Enough said. Great price and it works. Just don't upgrade the firmware and you're set.

Doesn't work. The product is fine, it's Apple tweaking their software to intentionally not work with anything but their own $50 (are you NUTS Apple?!) cable.



I would have loved this for my iPhone, but now I'm seriously looking forward to the day I can dump this POS and pickup an Android phone. I knew there was a reason I've always hated Apple. :(

Tried with two different ipod touch 2g - 1 with firmware 2 and other with 3. Video did not work with either, just audio. I bought a belkin cable and it worked perfectly. I have heard Apple may block certain products or whatever, but Apple does not make vendors claim their products work with Apple's stuff. Simple fact is that if a manufacturer puts it in the description, it should live up to it. So, based on that, this thing blows.

Overall, this product works great with my Ipod Touch (Firmware 2.2). The set up was easy and displays the video on the TV. Overall, the video clarity and color is good.



My only issue with it is the video playback during scenes that have rapid movement. The picture gets fuzzy or digitized as I call it.



Other than that, the price makes it worth buying.

The A/V part of the cable works fine with my Classic 160gb and outputs both audio and video. However, the USB cable ONLY supports charging and does not support sync or other USB functions (useful if you are planning to use this to attach to a car with built in iPod controls). If all you need is charging then this would work fine, but for full control you would need a different cable.
