I bought these for my LG Xenon cell phone as a way to put the phone in my pocket without having the annoyance of a bulky case (which also ruins the aesthetic of the phone). It fits absolutely perfectly and has worn well (durable) so far.



I read some reviews stating it wouldn't completely cover/fit iPod Touches or iPhones. I don't know if the company has made any changes since then but I tested these socks on the following products and I'm happy to report they all fit perfectly with just enough extra room:

These were a great little find. After a trip to the Apple store [when I had to talk myself out of paying $29 for their product], I came home and searched for generic iPod Socks. Yay for me! I will say, however, that the seam along the side of the sock is a little thick and takes away from the smooth, snug look of it when it's on a device [using mine for my iPhone 3G]. The shopping was a little much, but even with the shipping, these were sill more inexpensive than Apple's product. They didn't come in a 6 pack, but rather 6 individually packaged socks in one shipping package.

These socks are cute and they will fit around ipod or ipod touch (girthwise). They are about 1cm too short to cover the whole ipod touch lengthwise, though. I have stretched it as much as possible and it still comes up short. Good for storing cell phones and smaller ipods such as the Nano.

Why pay $40 for glorified socks? Get these for around $10. It's not like this is a high technology item. They're little bags of cloth. And they are EXACTLY the same product as iSocks. I found these because I searched for "mp3 socks" instead of "ipod socks." The word iPod apparently adds 300% tax on whatever is being sold.

At half the price of the Apple/iPod branded version, they sure are an attractive alternative. The color, weave, and stitching look almost identical. The two major differences are 1) the absence of the Apple/iPod tag and 2) the size.



They are quite small(thin) out of the box but do stretch suitably. However they are a little shorter than the Apple version. One will hold an 80GB iPod Classic and just about exactly cover it up. However an iPhone sticks out by about 1/2".

Works as promised, but I use it to connect my ipod to my factory car stereo (connectors are under the armrest) so the 6 foot length is overkill. Wish it was offered in 2 or 3 foot length.

The cable arrived quickly via U.S. mail, and it works. Hooray! I used mine to connect the audio line out from a netbook to a TV, and it works great so far.



Now some initial observations.



For those who care about such things, the RCA connectors on the cable I received were black and red, not white and red, so I've posted a photo. I just plugged the red cable connector into the red socket, and the black cable connector into the white socket, and it's good to go.



How long is a 6-foot cable supposed to be? If you measure the one I got from the tip of the stereo plug to the tips of the RCA connectors, it's 6 feet 2.5 inches long; but if you measure just the unmolded section of cord, that's 5 feet 10.5 inches long.



The metal of all the connectors isn't gold plated; instead it's a silver color with a mirror finish. My guess is that it's a bright nickel plating over some base metal. FWIW, the connectors were not magnetic. There's a tan insulator between the center pin and outer sleeve of the RCA connectors that appears to be phenolic. All connectors were molded onto the wires, and included 5/8" of strain relief where the wires enter the connector.



The wire has two separately-insulated parts that are joined and run in parallel except for perhaps the last three inches at the RCA connectors, where the wire is split with each half going to a separate RCA connector. If the RCA connectors were pulled further apart, it seems the twinned wires would easily separate, allowing the RCA connectors to be positioned further apart.



The country of origin isn't indicated on the cable, and there was no individual unit packaging such as thermoformed plastic or a baggie.



I haven't had the product long enough to comment on long-term reliability.



In summary, the cable works, it's cheap, shipping was a bargain, and it arrived promptly. So far, I'm satisfied.

Well...it does what it is supposed to, but the glue on the pads holding the Ipod let the pads "move around" with the Ipod coming lose and let it vibrate, but, hey! it is an easy fix for an Ipod installation.

This all in one kit is excellent. I did not have any problems with the connection of my FM radio to this unit. It was effortless. It sounds and plays very nice. The remote that goes with it turns it on/off changes songs. It is a delight to use this as compared to the half dozen other similiar units I have bought from other manufacturers. I puit it my Mercury Grand Marquis. it fit well in the lighter only because it swivels up and down. I was not able to install it in my Ford truck because it would not fit in that lighter.



I highly recommend it.
