Upon receiving the iPod I purchased, I found the battery had neared the end of its life. I was only getting an hour or two after a full charge. HOWEVER, upon contacting the seller, I quickly had a brand new battery on its way, and after a 5 minute repair, I basically have a brand-new iPod, minus a few cosmetic scratches caused by dropping the flimsy case I had bought for it. (DO NOT buy Eforcity's metal cases, your iPod WILL fly out of it at the first sign of falling.

The Ipod worked perfect for the first two months, then it will start, but not play. I had to spend $100.00usd to get it fix. I paid more for repairs that the ipod.

I love my iPod! I've had it for over 2 years now and it is still working well! I keep a plastic cover on it and then another aluminum one over that one so that might be the reason it doesn't have any scratches on it, but it is the best thing. I use it daily; I always have it on when I'm walking to and from class. It's great for car rides and bus rides and I can still find accessories for it even though it is so old. The battery life is still amazing and I can go about a week using it everyday without having to recharge. I would recommend this to anyone and even though it's not the newest one, if you can find one that is in good condition, you can have the same experience for at least half the price! I hope to have this one for at least another 2 years :)

I purchasded this I-pod as a replacement, not really sure that I wanted a re-furbished device however, much to my surprise the product not only arrived within two-three days of ordering but was brand new---or nearly next to new...I could not really tell the difference. I love my I-pod we are attached at the hip.



Best investment I made thus far as far as music goes... Will I order from this seller again? Absolutely! Great experiece but best of all, this was an excellent choice of sellers on my part as I am very happy with the whole process from start to finish.

I've owned my black 30gig for almost two years now, and it's done fine by me. Hardly has any nicks or scratches on it since I keep it in its cloth sleeve most of the time. It's a feature-filled mp3 player, but by and large I only find myself using it for music. By now there are better options out there, like the iPod Classic.



Pros:

-elegant design

-decent sound quality when paired with some good headphones (like my Koss PortaPro Headphones with Case)

-decent size for the price (which, for me, was $50 with my Mac)

-With a Mac, can sync things like contacts and calendar appointments, which is surprisingly useful

-Video quality is nice though I never use it

-solid build quality (though I've never dropped it onto a hard surface, thank god)



Cons:

-not enough space for my collection (I need about 60gig, but the new Classics are 120gig, so get one of those)

-scrolling on clickwheel is touchy; often just as I take my thumb off of it, the slight movement of doing so moves the selector to the next item rather than the thing I was selecting, which is frustrating.

-battery life is acceptable but could be better (and is on the newer models)

-powering on/off is kind of stupid with having to hold a button down for three seconds.

-pulling the headphone cord usually pauses the music and I can just flick on the lock, but it doesn't always work; sometimes I'll come back to my car to find the thing still playing.

-menus could be better



By the time of this review, there are better options from Apple and others available. Sometimes I wish this one would crap out so I could get a Touch (wouldn't fit all my music but the Apps and interface are awesome) or a Classic (would fit all my collection and then some). But in the meantime, it works quite nicely with the right playlist synced, and for the most part I can just turn it on Shuffle and tune the day away.
